I also liked Jango and Musicovery. I know that they're the black sheep of the online music family, but because of it, there's not the same push that they have towards commercialization.

I suggest you visit a local Toastmasters club, honestly. It's done nothing but help me and many people around me.
Okay, so this post is about figuring what version of Linux to use. So, here's the problem: I'll start with what I'm looking for, and maybe one of you can give me a simple and easy response. I want the following, organized into necessities and preferences.
I have to admit that lately, I haven't been using the big G lately for all that much. DuckDuckGo is a better engine for me.
@Jude2010: As a fellow librarian buried in the stacks, I have to agree. If it weren't for my knowledge, most of my friends wouldn't be able to do half of what they do research-wise.
This seems to be a huge step backward to me as well, personally. The whole "cloud computing" ideal seems to be a giant way for the corporations and governments to track our every movement, indeed, our every thought. There's a scary amount of things that I do on my computer that are purely personal, and I don't like…
This is default behavior in all PortableApps releases anyway...
I may be strange in this, but I use Firefox 2.0.0.8 still (just have a small issue with the newest version of MicroFox, which I'm going to fix by removing it and going back to my old, stable, version). Maybe you can call me odd, but I use a computer from 2004, with WinXP SP2. I can't afford to risk overtaxing my PC,…
@petarro: I wish I didn't agree. My girlfriend and I are changing her machine from 7 to XP.
I'll be honest, when I was using Usenet, it wasn't for piracy. But then again, one of the reasons I prefer BitTorrent + Gnutella is very simple: I am both cheap and broke. Usenet requires money going from me to someone else. Not gonna happen - when I pirate, it's because I want free content that I can't get easily…

To be blunt, I disagree wholeheartedly with regard to browser selection. While I feel that the "speed dial" function was created by imbeciles, and the lack of functional tab browsing features is a pain, Opera would still reign supreme in the browser division for me. Assuming that you (like me) install offline,…
I can't say I support this, frankly. To be honest, I still believe in HTML 3, without any of the CSS nonsense. It's a far more stable background. Despite the fact that I do use a version of Firefox (2.0.0.8, if you must know), but I would use IE if it didn't have so many obvious weaknesses.
