@Ipomoea: You can get a temporary handicap tag if you need it. Sure, it's nice to park close if you're pregnant, but it's also nice to park close to the door if you're a dad managing 2 little kids, or a lazy slob, or morbidly obese, or will melt in the rain, etc. There's nothing magically special about being a

@stockcarwilly: I don't think a 3" harness would be wide enough for modesty in that case.

@Jackie: That was some serious driving. You don't stay ahead of a car like that (particularly a car you've only driven for 8 minutes!!!!!) without crazy skill. Most drivers would have crashed there, a few good drivers would've been smart enough to go both feet in, but saving that? Pure badass. I bet it felt

@doug-g: I like my women really young, inexperienced and passive, too. Makes me feel virile and strong!

I love it. Yeah, it's useless as a car, but it's damn amazing as a cartoonish art car. People have definitely spent money on dumber things.

Is it really a case of Dolce and Gabbana unrealistically making us expect that a 52 year old woman can/should look 25?

Times have changed! Look at the progress!

@FelineFraulein: 2010 eyes looking at 1965 photos, maybe? Was the swastika more an anti-establishment than an anti-jew symbol at the time? I dunno.

The craziest part is their names. Pomfret and Prothero? I dunno if you could even make up such a kickass pair of surnames.

@Optixtruf: No one in Detroit has enough money for both a car AND booze.

I don't care how it looks if it actually *works*, which it doesn't. If it can't import excel files without munging up all the formulae, it really any good to me or anyone else who works in an office. As things are, it's the worst of the major attempts at commercial software replacement...and that's saying a lot.

@zekestone: +1. The problem is there's *no* incentive for a the DA to do the right thing, admit they were wrong and just drop the case. They get judged solely on how many people they lock up, not on whether or not those folks deserved punishment. It's not a problem with the people so much as he entire system.

Glad this guy got off, but I'd much rather see this decision happen in a federal appeals court, since this exact case could still happen in any of the other two-party consent states, or even another county in MD.

@highlandmiata: I've had issues with cops in the past, but never the state ones. Every time I've been pulled over by a state cop, it's been for a non-bullshit reason and I've been treated with respect I might not have deserved given the circumstances.

@Skunky: Whoa, that’s a full double spoiler all the way. Double spoiler, oh my god. It’s a double spoiler, all the way. Whoa that’s so intense. Whoa man! Wow! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa ho ho oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Woo! Oh wow! Woo! Yeah! Oh ho ho! Oh my god! Oh my god look at that! It’s starting even to look like a

@Alfisted: There are still a fair number of those around here. The NAPA stores tend to be pretty good, and we've got at least three or four real indie parts places left within 15 minutes of where I live in Ann Arbor (hardly a mecca of greasy shade-tree mechanics).

@marimvibe: regarding fuel economy, IIRC the MI state police had to reduce miles driven due to fuel costs back in '07. I'd call that a big deal, especially in a state where a few cops need to cover a really huge area.

@mtfmuffins: Probably not as good as the rosemary honey-butter-injected Big Mac I had last night.

Given how common and underreported it is, you really don't ever know if the people around you are victims.
