Can’t argue with you there. There is a line that the government will cross that will cause an uprising... Most of the people in the US are fine with bread and circuses at the moment.

Why would the government go down the route of violence? They already are in some places. There are already violent responses to

You don’t live in a dictatorship, yet. Your government will go bad, guaranteed. It’s what governments do. The only questions are ‘when?’ and ‘how will you stop them if you’re unarmed?’

Having gun bans in some places works better than others. If you live on an island where the ports of entry are limited to an extent,

The problem with IIFYM is that it pretends that foods with the same macro composition are the same, which isn’t true. An apple has about the same macros as 10 sugar cubes, but one is a good choice and the other is about as bad a choice as you can get. Macros are don’t indicate much of anything and are really only

So... When someone picks up the jar of mayo and it’s very light, but looks full, they’re going to think it’s full rather than a safe for something... I know criminals are dumb, but not that dumb. The false bottom thing is cool, but a waste of time if you’re interested in security.

In Phoenix, nearly every house has a pool. I don’t like pools but we haven’t been able to find a house that doesn’t have one.

Too many freakin people don’t even strap it on. I guess there’s nothing to protect?

That sounds like a titanic oversight! Although, that’s really the kind of thing I’m talking about. When corporations get to decide what’s most important, they’re going to choose money. When governments get to decide, they’re going to choose re-election... Unfortunately, that means getting money from corporations,

Exactly, no point in getting are panties in a wad because of ‘possible’ mass starvation. No, we’ll just let the guys in DC take orders from their corporate masters until we have ACTUAL mass starvation, then we can eat the lobbyists. They should be fat enough to sustain us for a couple of decades at least.

My solution is to snark day and night until all flowers are pollinated. I’m dedicated to the cause. Let no issue go unsnarked.

What has government done that private industry could not have done if they were allowed to steal as much money as they want from the people who live around them?

“The Government Has a Plan to Prevent Bees From Going Extinct”

Better start writing the “Bees have gone extinct due to help from the government” article now, D. Won’t be too long now.

Yep, let’s increase the cost of basic services that the author deems to be basic human rights so that we have good-tasting water for our toilets. Genius, indeed!

I don’t think you understand how water bills work...

I wouldn’t qualify someone who can spend 25 cents per day on water as rich.

Infrastructure isn’t the way to go, IMO... I don’t drink most of the water that’s used in my household, even if I drank out of the tap. Most of it is used for washing (dishes, clothes, cars, bodies), filling the pool or watering the

Hate being that guy (but I am what I am), but quaff is not the word you’re looking for... Quaff means to drink heartily. One does not drink their thirst... Maybe quench, quell or quash?

Good thing this post isn’t sexist...

A basic filter does not help with the taste of all tap water. It’s not an issue of aeration. It’s an issue of pollutants in the water that Brita-style filters just can’t handle. My tap water is foul smelling, foul tasting and always has at least some floaties in it.

There’s a reason bottled water sells. You can argue

Do credit cards count as a scam? I mean, they tell you all the details and they’re legal, but they depend on the user’s ignorance of compound interest and irresponsible spending to make money. They’d go out of business if they were used properly by all their customers.

I guess it depends on what you mean by ‘rot’. Rot means to decompose by action of bacteria. That certainly happens in your digestive tract.

There is a big push to get women into specific jobs, but not any push to get men into the women-dominated jobs. Is it possible (yes, it is) that women simply gravitate towards non-tech jobs because women are genetically predisposed to engage socially rather than technically? We need to stop pretending that men and
