BTToggle is pretty cool for listening to podcasts through your bluetooth headset (on a PPC 6700 it tries to voicedial unless you have BTToggle or something similar).
These look funny to me too. I use CTRL + Shift + Arrow to select complete words or move through complete words quickly. Shift + Home will select to the beginning of a line (use Shift + End to select to the end).

I've used Sprint with the device shown in the photo above and it works at 100 or 200K in my area. My understanding is that Sprint will not charge you extra if you are signed up for the Vision plan (about $15/month?).
