Plus the key difference is that this vehicle most likely has a sophisticated  sensor package that will automatically slam on the brakes when a kid wanders into the road in front of it. A 2005 Subaru wagon will not do the same.

The answer is exceedingly simple: it’s us. We can stinkeye the airlines and they do deserve a little bit of it but by and large we as consumers send the message to airlines that we want cheaper tickets at all costs.
