They’re also what manufacturers should be chasing, at least from a business perspective.

Hahahaha, so much this!
To be fair, this also tends to hold true for most Toyota BOF vehicles, and most fun things in the $20-35K range.
I had the exact same issue back when I was buying my STi. I could get one that was 1-2years old, with 20-40k ‘STi-Miles’ for about $1-2K less than what a new one cost. The used ones also didn’t have the good interest rates that the new ones did.
I’m okay with this.
Not going to argue anything you’ve mentioned here. A car extremely similar to what you’re talking about is what I had in mind when I wrote what I did (a Gen3 F-body - not mine - was the experience I was drawing from). I DESPERATELY crave a car like what you’re talking about (albeit with more power and grip), and plan…
More than fair. Looking now, I can see that he’s all over the map with it. Was working backwards from the few I’d seen (random screencap from google images)
True, but it’s most fun to drive a fast car fast. Also, there’s a certain amount of fun to be had driving something with “unusable” power. Just ask anyone running a restomod on tiger-claw re-pops.
I can only hope (bigly) that he’s riffing one of Trump’s meme-able comments. The lack of punctuation(!!!) has me worried that this is not the case.
It may just be my opinion, but my oil wash Levi 527s (or whatever straight leg/boot cut jeans I’m wearing that day), solid color polos, and plaid shirts look just fine. The examples I used (excluding the 60's one) were intentionally somewhat dated, as 5 pictures of dudes in the same plaid shirt and straight cut jeans…
There’s a much cheaper option out there than stitch fix.
I can get behind the Coexist one...
Legit can’t wait until Aluminum/Stainless/Inconel SLS printing is a reality, price wise, for the home gamer.
I’ve got Lazerhawk stuck in my head just reading through this.
Haha, you and me both. I had an 85 (Dual Carb!) right up until 2015. Sadly, I only had room for 2 cars, the STi wasn’t going anywhere, and the Prelude wasn’t really up to daily duties any more...
Mi General!
There’s always the option of buying a US made foreign car. My Indiana built Subaru Outback (‘09) has been largely reliable, albeit with just enough minor annoyances* to remind me that it’s built in the USandA.
This comment is not getting near the love it deserves. It absolutely radiates brilliance.
Not sure that mileage is a big deal, considering that neither car’s is much worse than the brand new M/RS/AMG cars, even if they’re a class size smaller than either. If you compare either against the 1 generation older cars they gen compete against cost wise, the mileages are the same. The SS will also happily run on…
What expensive issues do the CTS-V or SS have?
