I haven't seen the episode yet (being on the West Coast), but based on the last episode, I'd guess that Bear somehow suggested to Hanzee that it would be best if Dodd ended up with a bullet in the head (remember the scene earlier where Bear tells Hanzee that he's a part of the family).
