OK guys... as we’ve discussed at length in recent weeks, many films directed/produced by and starring black actors and actresses have been snubbed by the Academy this year and in years past. This was not one of them. A fine movie, yes, and highly entertaining. But not a great film.

You know... maybe I’m overreaching as a white devil myself, but I feel like history has shown there are many ways people can face adversity in this world. Race being a prime example (probably THE example), but certainly not the only factor. And to insinuate that ‘white women’ and ‘white gays’ have essentially had it…

You know, I thought it was really good... Rocky movies are a mixed bag, and I thought this was the best one since the original. Stallone has a nice turn (and received a nomination for it), but the movie is all Michael B. and he was solid as usual.

On the one hand, it was a really good year for diversity when it comes to films about strong women and members of the LGBT community (Room, Carol, The Danish Girl, Mad Max: Fury Road, Brooklyn, Inside Out).

OK, look... as a white dude, I think the backlash against this woman is absolutely unwarranted. She was making a claim about equality, plain and simple, and the amount of butthurt in response to this innocuous (nay, necessary) comment is nothing short of absurd.
