“We find for the plaintiff. Please make sure the correct placard is on the truck next time. No fine, just a warning.”

So it would make more sense to fly planes for more hours, requiring more air refueling, instead of parking them on a portable deck closer to the conflict? I’m sure boots on the ground would love to hear “It will be awhile” when calling in air support.

The C0S comments to any negative media coverage always baffle me. They bash the former member in the way the insecure bully on the school bus teases someone.

That was easier to see coming. The Russians were not going to give up the Black Sea ports. Too important.

The U.S. didn’t adopt the island hopping campaign due to a lack of carriers. We had plenty of those. The islands made sense because it was a heck of a lot easier to sustain the war effort from based not floating around the ocean. The islands allowed us to base bombers and other aircraft not capable of using carriers

Um, no. The Chinese had nowhere the military muscle at the time so they could not project power. Even if they had wanted to, they did not have the means to do so.

Do you have another parking spot in mind for it?

Riddle me this. How has Putin managed to Kadyrov, a Sunni, and his fighers, to now support Putin? Gobs of money? More autonomy? Is Kadyrov a Sunni in name only? I wouldn’t think a band of Sunni fighters would sign up to align with Iran in a fight.

How would you characterize Russian involvement in the Crimea? Is it justified? What if <insert country name> rolled into another country because a portion of the population identified with <insert country name> and claimed they were being marginalized by the local government?

Civilian airliner shoot down in 3...2...1...but the U.S. didn’t help matters with the hospital bombing in Afghanistan.

Don’t equate political astuteness with economic acumen. Putin has wisely played the sanctions as an “Us versus the west” theme, keeping his support at home at record levels while the Russian economy shrinks. He’ll be fine in that regard.

That’s quite a stretch. Turkey isn’t about to align with Russia. Mild reactions to Russian incursions into Turkish airspace should be equated with agreeing with Russia. It’s called diplomacy. NATO chooses to be less obvious about its sabre rattling compared to Russia.

Considering the energy that goes into these events, I have always thought the amounts of money raised were rather modest. Heck, just add $500 to yearly dues, write a check to a charity and they will have raised more money...but I know...the parties, appearances of charity, etc.

Questionable? You mean preposterous. So the other nations with legit claims in the SCS should roll over for ancient claims that cannot be proven? Maybe we hand the Falklands back to Argentina. Current internationally recognized territory limits get ignored because China is ticked? Um, no.

I agree the protests were important but it’s silly to say we could have easily had material support sent into the country. Did the Israelis army give you a tour of their capabilities in Iran?

Russian state television. Credibility, amiright?

You can say that about many nations around the world.

Independent Kurdistan. That’s cute, says Turkey.

There’s nothing to plant. Russia and Syria have been tight for years.

Huh? We’re providing training to the Ukrainian military. Why would you think we’re not on the ground in eastern Ukraine trying to learn as much as we can?
