Cool

Not bad

From what I can recall, amsoil syn ATF swells up the DU bushings in the v160 getrag transmission. There was many complaints about amsoil on the forums. It may work well with other trans but not well with the v160 trans. From the great debate on the supra getrag trans fluid, “The closest fluids to the composition and

Imagine filling your transmission when your fluid comes in this type of canister (why Toyota, why...)

Theres a few fluids brand out there that can be replace with the Toyota v160 ATF fluid. A few members on the forums did a fluid test and Royal purple synchromax is one of the few that's similar to the v160 ATF. RP is well known in the supra community if the car is track driven. But as a daily driver, I just stick with

Haha, no need to overnight parts from Japan when theres online shops having Japan parts in america

Its blows my mind on why Germans trans use only a particular type of fluids. Any other fluids tend to swell up the gear seals. Either pay 45 bucks a quart x2 at Toyota (and that's with homie employee discount) or pay a couple grand later to have the getrag trans rebuild. I change the fluid on mine every two years

As a proud owner of a 94 6spd 2jzgte supra with over 160k miles. I totally agree with the Drivetrain being able to handle 6 figures mileage without any major repair besides the usual drain and fill of the transmission fluid. I've only replace the shift rod seal at 160k miles because it was leaking transmission fluid.

Nice, planning on getting rid of those stock chrome 17 inch TT wheels? Lmk

Are you on the supraforums?

I’m glad I bought mine many years back for 18k with 79k on odo. Plus mine was a stock 6spd 2jz-gte
