Seriously, people are retarded. The 996 wasn't that bad at all, and it wasn't unreliable at all either. Some of the materials should be nicer, but it drives like a fucking dream and that's really the only reason I'd buy a Porsche.

Saying that the 996 is horribly unreliable is a bit of a stretch. The interior isn't as nice as a car of that price should be, but aside from the far overblown IMS/RMS issues I haven't heard of them not being a solid and well built machine. I think you're kind of buying into the hype surrounding these cars instead of

Soooo do you guys think the spoiler is functional? Like, if I buy this car and get the spoiler removed will I suddenly take flight and burn up when I reach the sun?

If it has AWD it could very likely become my next car. If not, I'm sticking German.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, BMW named their cars with sensible names.

Dude, she's the Queen. I don't care how many people drive stick where you live, the Queen driving a stick is fucking bad-ass.

The SLS was not a 230K car... It was about 150K when I saw one in the Beverly Hills dealer last year.

Yeah that's exactly the sort of thing I'm talking about. Sometimes it's just nice to be near the one you love!

I'm not sure that you understood what I was saying at all. When you are living with someone you love, sometimes it's nice to just be in the same room even if you want to play videogames and she doesn't. I believe that even if you have multiple TVs in the home, sometimes you just want to be next to each other.

Yeah being able to pump like 400+ HP to all wheels would be damn sexy.

Apparently you do not understand the concept of enjoying being in the same room as your significant other after a long day at work.

if this is not AWD I guess I'm just going to go back to looking for good deals on a 996 or 997 or just get the Golf R :(

If I go to buy a supercar and end up worried about MPGs, I'll turn around, go buy a Prius and promptly drive it off a bridge to end my life.

Well if you live in Los Angeles the Z06 is perfect for about 360 days of the year.

I think that headlights turning with your steering wheel should be on the list. It feels wrong driving down a twisty, dark mountain road at night without them.

Actually the EARLIEST 996 models had a stronger dual row bearing which failed significantly less and then they switched to single row in the models built from years 2000 on, and problems persisted through 2006 (into early 997s) and sometimes even later. Even then, IMS problems were actually way more overblown than

My girlfriend does. she wanted a keyboard and she loves it.

Get an E39 M5, E60 M5, 996 Turbo, or an RS6 wagon with the V10.

I absolutely love driving the ML. It's way better than the ML350 (and you can change the suspension firmness with a button—I'm sure you can do this in the wagon too). My dad has a Cayenne S also along with a 911 and I won't say the ML handles as... communicatively? as the Cayenne but it can chew up surprisingly sharp

Right? It actually seems like a sound investment to go buy a ridiculous luxury SUV now. And to think my mom wouldn't have gotten one if she didn't have two 150+ lb dogs to carry around... She could have gone broke! Now she'll have a steady source of new SUVs AND income for the rest of her life!
