Well considering an M3 going the Prius's top speed around a track trounced it in fuel economy i'd say you are wrong about that—a Prius is not designed to go 100 mph and it's major MPG benefit is in the city when you use a lot of battery power instead of gas. And I'm not necessarily talking about you, but MANY Prius

A HUGE shitload of Prius drivers say many things about saving the environment.

You think BMW and Audi drivers drive cluelessly and block intersections and change lanes without looking?

Well if you want to save the environment, you oughta be willing to pay a little extra to ensure that you're doing it the right way.

Why not just get an i3, which was actually built with environmental/sustainable practices and saves you significantly more than a Prius will to drive around the city? Not to mention will be one hell of a lot more fun to drive.

you can think what you will, but come drive for a while in LA and you'll see what I mean.

The Prius defense team is very passionate. I'm sure they are bitter Prius owners that wish they could defend getting a car that isn't actually good for the environment but only serves the purpose of saving them less money at the pump than a diesel would.

I don't seem to experience many Insight drivers trying to drag race me at stop lights or zoom by at 100 (top speed and bad mpg) on the freeway or just cut me off only to slam on their brakes or block intersections or not pay attention when the light turns green or make a lane for themselves on the shoulder or get in

I say Los Angeles, because we never have a winter storm.

you keep saying it's ridiculous and overdone... I'm not sure what you're on about. If you don't like the pictures don't read the comments section on COTD. And don't judge everyone who likes what $kay posts once a day on the COTD—seeing as how it is once a day on the same section, I'm not sure I see that as "overdone".

WAIT WAIT WAIT

Car shopping is my favorite thing in the world.

I'm not stuck on RWD but I tend to have the most fun with RWD so generally prefer it—but when I decide to get a new car I will definitely be looking into all the options, Golf R included! And the ATS is high on my list of cars to test out too, I've heard great things about it and love how it is looking. If I can

To each his own, man!

I know what you're saying and you're right about it. But like I said I find it pretty stupid not to cross shop them, but then again a lot of people aren't that smart when it comes to cars obviously.

well if you wanna get into specifics you did say "test drive" which does not imply "buy"—and many people my test drive the cheaper option before going with the more expensive one.

IF you are a successful enthusiast I think it'd be pretty stupid not to give the new Mustang a drive before you spend 20k more (only people who are not successful or not properly raised don't consider saving money—frugality is a key part of success) on something slower that sounds worse and is less reliable/more

Do you think the majority of people driving BMWs, Audis, and Mercedes even understand the cars at all? or do you think a lot of them bought them because of the prestige of owning one. And how do you know people test driving Mustangs couldn't afford a BMW? maybe people just don't like looking like douchebags who spent

I have driven premium cars. My sister has an Audi, my dad drives 2 Porsches (given one is a Cayenne) and my mom has a 2013 ML63 AMG—oh yeah, and I have a BMW.

No kidding—the dealer just tried to tell me my entire rack and pinion steering was broken and it would be 3k to fix AFTER keeping my car for 2 days...
