I would say the licensed game industry died long before Fortnite started doing those events, like a decade beforehand. And while it is true that the licensed game could be a way to keep bills paid while working on other projects, my anecdotal experience was more along the lines of licensed games acting more as a black

It’s rare that I replay a game, usually it’s ones that I never got around to actually beating or the occasional game I love but haven’t played in several years, and at this point it’s primarily all done digitally on PC anyway. But I mostly skipped the Switch and refuse to buy one at full price this late in the game

The first time I played Return of the Obra Dinn I was sure that some of the identities couldn’t be determined without guessing. Nope, Lucas Pope played fair. Connections does too.

If you go on the Connections subreddit people are always complaining about the cross-category answers, somehow not understanding that they’re the whole point of the puzzle.

BTW Victoria Coren Mitchell, the host of Only Connect, was really fun on her series of Taskmaster.

Yeah thats definitly not it. Maybe 1% of the playerbase actually mods games. The majority are on console where mods just dont exist...except for starfield which is getting mod support in 2024...

I think Switch 2 is fine.  It has worked for the PlayStation and is what MS should have been doing all along.   The “2” makes it clear that this is the successor unlike “U” which was just ambiguous.

I, for one, generally don’t prefer to get my recs from Gam3rG4t0r420 on GameFAQS or RedditUserSchlub.

Sounds more like that people think the games are worth it despite said criticisms. Because they’re fun.

Looks more like he's awkwardly breathing on Mario as he walks by but sure, "bites."

I agree with you. One of the biggest surprises for me in gaming in the past couple of decades was when I hit World 6-3 in Super Mario 3D World (Hands-On Hall).

Where do you think indie games sell their soundtracks?

To be clear, I’m not talking about whether Bowser successfully marries Peach, but rather the twists and turns of the mechanics of the game.

People saying early Sonic games are all about constant speed are like people who think Star Wars movies are all about lightsabers. Yes there are always lightsabers, but 90-95% of the movie is not that, and you are only remembering it that way because it was the exciting part.

I’ll let everyone in on a little secret. Sonic games have always had a LOT of slowdowns and obstacles. The first two levels of every 2D Sonic game are the rose tinted glasses we wear when talking about speed. Marble zone? Hydrocity (pronounced Hydro-City)? Once act one is over, speed is reserved for select portions of

They don’t want another Charles Martinet - don’t get me wrong, I love Martinet, Nintendo loves Martinet, EVERYBODY loves Martinet, but they boxed themselves into a situation where an actor was iconic enough for fans to notice and talk about him.

Yeah. Nintendo’s really only made Mario’s voice into a big deal. Link’s gone through a dozen different actors in just about every game and I couldn’t name a single one if you asked nor has Nintendo ever made a point to showcase any “new voice” or anything.

It’s not your day’s fault.
