I’m non american. i live on the other side of the world. and whether i want it or not 90% of the news i get online is about US matters.. Unfortunately what happens in the US takes precedence over anything that happens in any other part of the world, wherever you are..

Really? I suggest you take yourself somewhere else, for a while, and try to get away from American content.

{EDIT}

YES YES YES!!

This is an extremely valid point. There’s something really gross and performative and disaster-porn-esqe about it, isn’t there?

Perhaps you’re American and don’t realize just how much American media permeates every single fucking thing, even for those who do not live in the USA. I cannot go on Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, any news site, TV channels, Jez, etc. etc. without being confronted with American media and American news. It’s inescapable.

Maybe I’m an asshole for saying this but...

As much as I like to shit on teenagers on this site, the kids are alright. It’s the adults that are failing us.

Do not know if this is true, but I read yesterday, that kids from Marjory Stoneman High were tweeting as the shooting and lock down was going on. And kids from other high schools with past shootings were replying to them telling them what to do - telling them places they had hid to survive, how they got out of their

what do you expect from a guy who married his own daughter

Well, I’m sure they didn’t know she was seventeen. Doesn’t excuse the comment whatsoever, it’s an offensive thing to say about anyone of any age, not to mention particularly creepy considering it’s a seventeen, but, again, I’m sure he just didn’t know that she was a mi-

The main reason for my decision was that I felt the book did a really poor job at depicting resources for mental health. It painted a picture that the main character had no options and that no one wanted to help her (spoiler: she walks out on her counselor without saying anying but blames him for not stopping her). I

In this case “a pile of Tic Tacs” sends a shudder down one’s spine. Only Trump could make an innocent breath mint so ominous.

This was the first comment under the Buzzfeed article and she posted it on her Facbook page as well. I found it an interesting read.

The enemy of my enemy is not my friend.

That quote is profoundly disturbing.

I do wish the face looked more like Michelle. I mean, it’s a cool painting, I love the contrast of the grey and the blue, and I think the inclusion of the flying geese pattern on her dress is playful and fun (as a quilter I am a big fan of that pattern), but the face is just... off. Michelle Obama is a genuinely

I think of this quote every time someone says that Woody Allen only had one victim. It honestly creeps me out so much. Especially the part about giving her the ability to make decisions ‘as a gift’. Honestly some of the most damning testimony about Allen comes out of his own mouth.
