Hubris...it will destroy us all. What gives her the authority to tell people how to be allies? Is she trained in victim support? I believe in justice and consequences, but not the mob justice doled out on social media. Allegations need to be properly investigated and dealt with, there should be accountability and

Being a great producer is probably enough to be considered a great film maker, especially when the films he produces are so tied to his vision. His production credits lie beyond just two film series, but those two films series are singular enough to make that reputation.

Also, fuck yeah War of the Worlds, that movie was absolutely amazing. I saw it twice at the cinema.

I have a feeling the biggest scandal to come out of JL will be Fisher’s NDA, which somehow doesn’t stop him from publicly disparaging people he worked with and for on the project, but does absolutely prevent him from publicly supporting his accusations with facts or details.

The issue I have with this case is that the centre of it is increasingly murky. The centre being being “What actually happened on the set in 2017?”. Because without that knowledge, it’s hard to see or understand Fisher and a large part of me thinks that that’s intentional on Fisher’s part.

Warner brothers already did respond. They pointed out that the third party investigation that Fisher wanted was complete and that it was 100 impartial as per Fisher’s requests. They have no reason to respond to Fisher, particularly not now that he’s coming off increasingly erratic.

Why in Uxbridge’s name was Gray physically manifested? Why was Saru’s physiology affected by the “holo” program? Why do people think Enterprise is the worst Trek when this show, production value aside, argues compellingly against that 45 minutes at a time?  Someone get non-binary Wesley on this immediately.

I only mention it because they’re both Alex Kurtzman productions.

I concede it was better than Picard” - that’s a low fucking bar.

Michael as captain is bad.

I finally got to catch up with this show after being glued to the news for 20 hours straight

Don’t forget the ones who neither know or care what is going on as long as they get that sweet outrage hit.  Getting those people to mindlessly scream into the void is the Twitter and Facebook business model.

There's like a dozen cancel hashtags on Twitter at any given moment, but the AV Club still thinks "cancel culture" is a manufactured boogeyman of old white guys.

Not a great week for beans.

he joins a chorus of privileged public figures who have felt a need to speak out against this maligned “cancel culture”—which tends to actually consist of marginalized communities speaking out against sustained, systemic abuse

Joivan Wade has been doing such a great job as Cyborg in Doom Patrol. Just wanted to say.

The real question is, do they recast him or CGI his character into the next movie? Oh wait I just remembered nobody cares

I mean, let’s just say it; he can “refuse” all he wants, but regardless of what actually happened, after this whole clusterfuck he was never gonna be working in the DCEU/at Warner ever again anyway.

No, it’s not. Driving HBO Max subscriptions does nothing for Legendary or the talent and that’s the whole point. AT&T stock is expected to skyrocket based on subscriptions, but that has nothing to do with talent or financiers who are having a new compensation structure, not in their contracts, being forced on them.

I relate to that because I nod and smile all the time. They really get me.
