I’m pretty sure this was cancelled because it was a horribly written mess with about as much story telling depth and attention span as an issue of, “Axe Cop” which was plotted by a child. This zany, Scott Pilgrim style humor is pretty run of the mill for a lot of Marvel books right now.

Eh that’s probably the least inaccurate thing in the movie. People aged really badly back then. I was just watching an episode of Star Trek the other day and this was a man described as “in his early 40s” played by an actor in early 40s. Heck I’m 46 and this is what my dad looks like right now.

Frankly, BlacKkKlansman winning best adapted screenplay over If Beale Street Could Talk AND Can You Ever Forgive Me? is more egregious than Green Book’s Best Picture win, so Spike Lee should be counting his blessings instead of sulking. It’s true, though, that Green Book is, in fact, not a great film.

Solo was a bad idea for Star Wars regardless of whatever version ended up on screen. Ron Howard may have been the safe pair of hands, but I can’t see Miller & Lord’s version being much better.

I know there is role for Close out there that will summon all of her talents and for a performance most deserving.

I first got to know her as Sophie in Peep Show. It’s one of the best shows I’ve ever seen, and she is amazing in it. It’s on Hulu. The only reasons it hasn’t been the international hit it should be are the name, which is bad, and the unique style, which is very good, but jarring in the first couple of episodes.

She’s the British equivalent of Beloved Character Actress Margo Martindale.
