compared to the professional version it's fairly pimp on the inside.

Unfortunately that sounds about right. Too bad they won't do a professional version of this, or bring a professional version to the U.S. I would be plenty happy with a non fancy version of this truck.

Touché. Yes, that is indeed what I mean.

I'll probably sell it in a year or so and get (depending on price) this new G500, OR if Mercedes tacks an outlandish price on it I'll import a 320CDI

it's all fairly straight forward: 30mm lift, 1.25" wheel spacers, 35" Nitto Trail Grapplers, Baja roof rack, 50" LED light bar, then the exhaust I just eliminated the 3rd muffler which gave it a bit more bark without being obnoxious.

this is fantastic! The 6x6 is too much, the length and extra wheels throw the ascetics all off. But a portal conversion for a standard 463 is like 60k. So If Mercedes offers this for sub $150k I will be overjoyed! There are few things better than a properly kitted w463! Mine is a perfect example of this

I have made a rule that I won't own any more tuner cars, after a pair of hopped up audi's and a 700hp 911 I'm burned out on things that are high maintanence. But I would probably break my rule in a heartbeat for a 1500hp Gallardo if I found one for 150k.

is it bad I didn't have to watch the video to know this came from Americas septic tank? i dread driving through Louisiana every time.

cool car, but he costs are too great to have a car that could easily end up in the crusher if you screw up the illigal importation.

100% of it is because of that reason. It's a vicious cycle, they need those cars selling to stay alive as a company and keep improving theirs sports cars, but now they have to change the sports cars to boost brand economy.

as a matter of fact I had a hertz rental vette for a weekend once and put about 500 miles on it in Southern California. But read my comment again. I said "just about". I was not claiming it was the best.

The craziest thing about downsizing the Porsche engines for fuel economy reasons is that portions are already just about the most fuel-efficient sports cars you can get.

bit different concept, that's a turbo for shear lunacy, not to downsize the engine to please the tree huggers.

actually I just looked up the LIST OF NONCONFORMING MOTOR VEHICLES THAT ARE ELIGIBLE FOR IMPORTATION and the 1996-1998 R33 is eligible to be brought in through an RI. And the NHTSA provides the RI with the list of required changes.

loved the article, but this is what I got out of it:

But this isn't the only way you can illegally import a car without using official channels. There's also the other obvious option: just drive it over the border from Canada. Since Canada has less restrictive import laws than the States, this one seems easy: ship your car of choice to Canada, physically drive it across

To this day, these Skylines are completely legal in the eyes of the federal government. The result is that owning a GT-R with a "MotoRex letter" is currently the only way to legally have an R33 or R34 Skyline GT-R in the United States – unless it was one of the few limited-edition models exempted under the Show and

This strategy works well because it's so damn easy to register a car in Florida. In fact, as I was researching this column, I got the sense – I am not kidding here – that you can register any vehicle in Florida, up to and including an airplane drink cart.
