ultimately you can have any car you want in the US, it just comes down to 2 factors: which car it is, and how much money you have. MANY cars that never came to the U.S. are eligible for the Substantially Similar clause, there just hasn't been anyone to fight it, OR they didn't go about it in the right way.

yes, but the quality of thier website leaves me wondering just how long it will be until the government shows up at the house of every one of thier customers with a flatbed...not saying they aren't legit. But if they aren't they certainly wouldn't be the first to scam people. Just ask any of the hundreds of former R34

this could easily be brought to the U.S to on S&D. The issue being that with only 1 of them that could ever be available for purchase, there are only a handful of Americans who could conceivably ever have the chance to buy it. But they are all experts in S&D law. So it could easily end up in the US if it ever goes up

I belive with some work and Porsche cooperation, this could be brought in on substantially simillar clause.

see they need to go the "kit car" route with these. Then they can sell them here.

brand loyalty and brand stigma are the biggest issues here. It's essentially the same battle Audi has been fighting for years. Audi is just now starting to catch up to Mercedes and BMW in sales. Yes there is still the lingering reliability questions. But for the first 5 years/100k miles MOST Audi's are a superior

how hard would it really be for them to make a road going version of this?

also, VTEC turbo? Move over B5 S4, there's a new most unreliable performance engine in town.

great, now all the bros that own these can talk about how there car will do +170 with nos

no hate here, just making a point. I think most 996 owners are a little sensitive, but for good reason. You wouldn't belive how many Porsche owners I've met who have looked down on me for having a 996. I've parked my gulf livery GT2 clone next to a 997 GTS and had people pay no attention to my car. And on more than

I read all the way down and saw that you owned a 997. Yes the 996 was not the pinnacle of Porsche design either on the inside or outside. But the Turbos and GT2's have a perfectly adequate interior. To say they are anything simillar to a Daewoo is asinine. I looked at several 997 turbos before I settled on my 996. The

700hp, RWD converted, Gulf liveried, 996 Turbo with GT2 aero is the way to go.

I wouldn't expect them to throw out full teams all on their own, but I could see them partnering with someone extraordinarily wealthy to help run thier cars. Pagani could undoubtably get some amount of support from Mercedes AMG since they don't run in anything similar and are already providing their road car engines.

well I feel like Ferrari, & Mclaren would probably be all over another GT1 class, and let privateers run the 458s and 12Cs. I could see Zonda & Konigsegg jumping in as well if there was a series that allowed them to run thier cars.

AWD Mustang Ecoboost RS??? Yes please

First there were cars. Then the Miura brought us the supercars. Then the hybrid ushered in the age of the hypercar. But what the hell is a "megacar"? We have no idea, but it's what the maniacs at Koenigsegg are promising us.

Hey now. I bought the most European SUV I could, it's handmade in Switzerland, just like my watch. And it gets 9.8mpg on the hwy. but then again I only spend $50 a week on gas.

can you imagine the chaos if they were allowed to use the '14 chassis? They were already awful. And everyone else has been working to improve thier cars all winter.

yeah u cray.

haha if I had peasants I wouldn't have been moving hay on the roof rack of my Mercedes in the first place, so I rinsed it off in a roadside puddle at 40mph
