Boxster!
Boxster!
For pretty pictures, stacking (“sigma clipping”) will eliminate the satellite trails readily.
I had thought these satellites were mainly visible shortly after launch, in which case they would all follow almost the exact same trail across the sky. If this is the trail left by a satellite in its final orbit, that’s not so good, but I think you are right that he discarded the “good” shots and overlayed only the…
Right, sure, and what I’m saying is that I’ve spent less than 1000 dollars in repairs on my Boxster in the last 5 years. It’s not as expensive as you make it out. Motors don’t just blow up for no reason. These engines are pretty quality, particularly the early 2.5-liters. If you take care of them, they last.
Yeah, don’t get me wrong, if/when I replace my NB, I want a 987, they’re just so fantastic. But the Miata is just stupid cheap to take care of and nothing really beats it out for cheap/fun. All in, for my NB, brakes, wheels, tires, battery, and a DIY timing belt, I was only out about $5k when I bought the car. On the…
Boxster is a better Miata. There, I said it.
I read this as you wish you came up with my snarky take instead of the generic one Erin regurgitated.
It’s like the astronomers are complacent being permanent spectators.
I have been driving an 2012 C30 for a while and found my way to a 2020 V60 in June. I was curious about sales numbers and as I was going over things with the sales manager I asked him how the pandemic affected them and he said sales were almost 0 in April but starting in June they were almost back at normal levels.
Hah, I actually would have rather had this car in Bursting Blue, but alas the only offer four “colors”, all of which are achromatic.
Tesla is not a carmaker in my eyes. It is a successful tech startup which has learned how to manufacture cars based on their technological ideas.
Well, last week I did my job to make sure Volvo stays solvent and continues to make wagons.
And if Erik left, the worse would be behind Jalopnik.
Plate scanners don’t issue citations. Police officers do. And when an officer has a plate scanner, they also have discretion on whether to act on the information it provides. Information that includes the race of the owner (the probable driver).
What they’re actually used for is revenue enforcement of registration fees, and for hassling minorities. Unless the person who stole your car is just joyriding, they’re not going to get caught by a scanner.
That’s a nice story, but it doesn’t justify turning the license plate scanner on in any non-AMBER alert scenario. Also, there is no reason to believe attentive cops wouldn’t have spotted the car with a traditional scannerless APB.
Defund License Plate Scanners.
I bet it won’t even come with crank windows!
Eh, I liked the Fusion, though I wouldn’t do the Hybrid version of it. The gas ones are handsome, practical cars, and are a steal at that price.
Oh that sweet Ford depreciation.
