The Taycan seems more Model 3 sized than Model S when I see the Taycan mules next to the Model S. I’d be interested to see the Model 3 performance line up against the Taycan, but I think it might be the Taycan ‘Turbo’ which is the performance match, not the S. It might be $60K vs $120K though on pricing.

The base Boxster is fantastic in all the ways a Miata is fantastic, but faster and with a better sounding engine.  You can also find pristine garage queens unlike most older Miatas.

EVs are part of the solution in most reasonable plans to drastically reduce CO2 emissions. 200,000 EVs for $1.5B subsidies is not a good use, but that’s only if ypu don’t consider the value of jump starting the whole industry. I’d say $1.5B is a pretty good deal considering the Tesla effect transforming the industry.

Let’s rephrase... most light duty trucks spend a vast majority their days travelling less than 300 miles per day.

It’s hard to get the power necessary on a small capacity battery on a PHEV.  It’s why a Prius is slow, and a Tesla is fast.

That’s actually perfect for EVs. Enough miles to make gas a huge financial cost, easily within an EVs range, and no problem at all to recharge in a couple hours on 240V when you get home.
