I told him to bring the F250

Reverse: fuck toll roads.

“I’m <insert name>, and I’m a dealer FOR the people!”

I read a pretty good post “purportedly” by a former SpaceX intern. It basically said that the SpaceX had created an infrastructure around dealing with Musk—basically, a whole infrastructure around dealing with an unreasonable/crazy boss.

In past years, service revenues from Nissan’s electric Leaf hatchback have been half that of the brand’s combustion engine vehicles.

I like it!  It’s as if a Citroen DS and a Mercedes CLS got drunk and had a baby.

One more story to tell: my very first car sales gig was at a South Carolina Hyundai-only single marque dealership in 1991. This was about was harsh an introduction to car sales that one could experience. The job consisted mostly of taking credit applications from people who had been rejected at every other store in

No, but many of the guys I worked with jumped ship in that direction.  I worked at a place that rhymed with Kill Funday. It later became a Dead McChrome store, and it now owned by someone else that doesn’t rhyme well.

During my F&I days in Austin in the mid-90's, I saw some stuff. Some of it I can still remember. Here are a few quick gems.

The VW Thing was equipped with portal axles, I seem to recall.

“This is a fully secured contract that includes payment protection, life protection, GAP protection, and a 6 year, 100,000 mile service contract. Sign here, please. Press hard, you’re making four copies.”

I’d actually bet the margins are pretty good.

The Maverick is still about the same size a 2000's era Ranger extra-cab, but with 4-doors and decent room for 5.

Until Ford releases what their profit margins are on the Maverick, no one is going to rush to make a competitor

I’m noticing conferences in general are all underperforming. I’ve been to a handful of industry related conferences and trade shows, and pretty much all of them are a ghost town.

I can’t help but think of all the land some dealers own just to store inventory.

But how can a tiny dealership in a tiny town justify spending $500k or more on becoming a e-dealership?
