NOT the entire exhaust system, Máté, just those Iconel headers on each side, Gordon said, tossing one at me in the racing machine shop. It was incredibly light, like those speakers that had _ ALUMINIUM _ magnets?!? Knowing just a bit about metallurgy, asked him how do you magnetize aluminium? His answer, “... if you

PS: The S4 - Exactly the same as in posted pics, tan camel interior as well, but not that car.

Pretty _STRANGE _ Charles. Also, not quite done despite no less than 4 visits to Torino to fetch it. Even on the third visit, while test driving it around Mr. Agnelli’s private airport and taxiways. A coolant hose came undone, flapping around in the engine compartment like a tail of an excited dragon. That after only

Not that differen from the Porsche 919 doors in the original comment. Audi R18 doors above.

Ford solved the rear visibility problem with a center hole in their air dam. Surely an interesting solution but not particularly good one for increasing downforce, when they did not bother to cover it with plexiglass. But it was a good solution as the policeman motorcycle lights in the mirror would have otherwise been

Remember driving the 037, one just like the one above. That rear air dam was so incredibly HUGE that the inside mirror was totally useless. The car was very much fun to drive hard as it had a lot of composure and could take whatever was thrown at it, at any surface.

Very unusual for an Audi to be set up to porpoise as it did. Perhaps drivers of that car asked for very little rebound. They surely got it. Reminds of the very opposite, a very stiffly sprung Mercedes-Benz cars at Le Mans in Qualifying just before the Porsche Curves. Wondered how drivers will be able to manage that

Here is a proper Cup car just for you. Sequential shifter and street legal in Europe too.

A bit of an overstatement on your part, dear Sir. Clearly NOT a door. Door window, perhaps...?

Lancia S4 - also pretty strange. But, tube-framed, supercharged AND turbocharged 4WD avesome to drive machine. Loved flames from the exhaust while changing gears at full song. That, from the above street version!

Here, 037 in action . . .

Created by Mr. Schultz, way before Pagani, but quite similar in concept. Also V12 Benz powered. Beautifully executed and stunning looking from any angle. It had but one problem - a very small interior.

Porsche Cayenne’s raw bodies, yes, but the rest is assembled in Leipzig, Germany.

A nice 964 C2 is a good choice . . . If C4 is required, than at least with 993 C4 drive line mechanicals as the second generation of the 4WD system is that much more improved.

960 as SportAuto envisions it . . .

The principal designer was someone other than Hans Mezger, Alois Ruf mentioned . . .

Carrera GT, less two cylinders, basically...

Also amazing is the solidity of the original 901 engine design envisioned by none other than Hans Mezger. From a 2.0L with 160 to 180 some hp in the standard 911 to the S version. Then a 210 hp Carrera6 engine came in still 2-liter displacement. It is to Hans’ undisputed credit when the basically still air-cooled 901

A BIG engine, indeed, for still nimble, good mannered and very fast but no longer a light weight, small car . . .

Will drive the GT to get a better idea what the men from Affalterbach had created. But will wait for their third coming - the Aston they are co-developing with the Gaydon men. A more of a competitor to the GT than top 991 models will ever be, no matter however eagerly AMG wishes to compare their car to Porsche, IMHO.
