Yeah but wrecking a historic car which won le mans versus a car that was similar to winning Le Mans are pretty different things. Sure in the day it would’ve been less of a big deal because the parts were so interchangeable and the car was still being raced/recently raced.

If this was a 911 I’d say it was still a Porsche, only because if the vin was still attached it might still be worth some money to return it to more Porschness.
