Actually, the Targa sold almost as well if not better than the coupe for most of the time between 1970-1973. The main exception being 68-69 were weird years, but 67-66 they sold comparably too!

Yeah, but how much does it hurt on acceleration? How much does the weight gain hurt fuel economy? How much does the carbon and molding affect the cost report? Last year we couldn’t justify even with increased lap times. This year better be different.

instrumentation for aero testing, it’s a mounting for a pitot tube., which gives us airspeed and pressure data.

Yep. Half the work we are doing is making different simulations trying to justify adding aero. Last year my team actually didn’t end up having aero for competition, and if it wasn’t for a heating issue with three laps to go on endurance, would’ve been easily top 10, and the #1 non aero car.
