Local Motors says the first "fleet" of Stratis will come out of the D.C. facility, weighing around 1,100 pounds and hitting around 40 MPH thanks to an electric powertrain. The biggest stumbling block – aside from its looks – is whether people are willing to pony up the $18,000 to $32,000 for a 3D-printed golf cart.

It does sound like Ford is working to replace a system generally regarded as a massive pain in the ass. MyFordTouch was clunky, extremely laggy, hard to understand, and in some of my experiences, bad at synching with phones. Even younger, more tech-savvy drivers didn't care for it.
