I mean, this lines up with what the rest of the market is doing. The high-end EV as a boutique item has more options out there than interested consumers. Everyone is just clamoring for the affordable options now.

The model 3 seems to be doing well around me.  I rarely see a Model S and I’m not sure if I could tell if it’s a new one.

So how do current sales of the S and X compare to historical sales? IIRC, they have never sold in particularly large numbers - maybe 100K a year? No $70-100K+ cars do. How they sell relative to other company’s cars is not really all that important, and certainly Hyundai doesn’t make anything comparable in price. How

I just assumed they’re just gonna reskin Rivians, call them Scouts, and call it a day.

Must be area specific. Around chicago metro area, I see multiple Rivians daily, occasionally a Lucid. I also see the cybertruck almost daily now, in fact I saw 2 within a few minutes of each other yesterday, so I know I’m not just seeing the same one every day. I’ve seen a couple hummer EVs which frankly, I think are

VW is the King of taking a platform and shifting the sheet metal just enough to create products across multiple brands. Why think that they couldn’t utilize Rivian’s underlying tech/platform and just build from the frame up?

Jalopnik could/should do an entire article on the automotive/boating feats of Tyson Garvin. Including his absolute mad genius project of a rotary engine.

I honestly think they’re waiting for Jalopnik to sell before putting in any real effort. What’s the point right now?

On social media she was a part of a random street recently interview about relationships and all that. She said, “you just gotta give it that Hawk Tuh, and just spit on that thang” (what thang is, use your imagination =)). It was just a funny little excerpt but the internet blew it up making memes, people trying to

Gotta give it to them, the guys did a great job polishing that. Large flat surfaces are really tricky to polish right.

It’s not terribly surprising that some Tesla fanboys are also turd polishing enthusiasts.

Have to admit the wheels look a ton better than the crap they come with, and it at least looks like the wheels won’t be actively chewing up the tires as you drive. So at least they fixed one problem while adding another much worse one!

Could drinking 32 oz of coffee possibly contribute to why this dude is constantly at Rage DEFCON 1?  Good grief that’s a bit too much stimulation.

Bit of an escalation, but I ain’t mad at her.

as mentioned in an above comment, it’s all relative to what your interests/hobbies are. Plenty of non car enthusiasts likely think there’s no reason for someone to have any car other than a base toyota camry because anything else for getting from point A to point B is excessive and pointless. Particularly when you’re

My buddy owns two bike shops, so I get demo some cool stuff I can’t afford. My take away is it works like anything else.... At the low end moving up brings noticable gains at modest price increases. At the high end it cost a fortune to achieve nominal gains.

Woof. That’s a big question. I think at some point if you have the right fundamentals on a bike then it just becomes a matter of marginal gains with price increase (some wide margins, some narrow), but riding and trail style factors in as well.

For example, if you’re willing to spend around $1k on a new hardtail mountai

Better parts, hopefully better geometry, less weight, better components, less friction in the parts, and nicer materials.

All the ticket info is in the tweet, none were at the same address or block. Some on the same road and these are all in DC, which, not sure if you have ever been, is pretty much all urban areas. Outside of the highways I would bet almost all roads are 35 or 45 MPH max and cams only ticket for 11+ over. So that is 30%

Are you for real? This crash was inevitable, you don’t get 43 speed cam tickets in 10 months by driving safely. The fact that they didn’t pay any of them shows that they didn’t care.
