Beat me to it, goddammit.
Beat me to it, goddammit.
Short answer: no.
I gotta go with the TurboExpress/PC Engine GT. Is it the best handheld of all time? No. Is it the most memorable? Also no. But when it came out it was a technological marvel. The idea that you could shrink a TurboGrafx-16, a big fat console for your TV into a handheld, complete with a color screen and optional TV…
Nintendo’s doing the same thing Disney does with taking movies/shows out of its “vault” and then putting them back in there until such time as they feel like re-releasing them. And it sucks. What sucks more is that it works.
Damn, wasn’t Pilotwings so much fun? There was a lot of buzz around it as one of the launch titles for the SNES, and the Mode 7 goodness of the game just drew people in. The game didn’t have to be good. I mean, how many great games are there about piloting? But leave it to Nintendo to figure out how to create that…
The only problem I have with these releases is budgeting the money needed to buy all of it.
There’s a little bit of late-stage Secret of Mana in there, too. And parts that sound like they’d fit right in with Super Castlevania IV.
Oh, this is fantastic. It’s so great when you get exposed to something you never knew existed, and now that you know, you can’t let go of it. This feels like it could easily be the soundtrack to a Crystalis sequel (or remake) that was made in some alternate dimension, or the lost soundtrack to some secret ‘90s SquareSo…
I suspect you’re going to get what you want.
It’s definitely interesting and its own thing, but I’m getting a strong Disney’s Aladdin-vibe.
Or Home Alone 2 without Donald Trump!
Jesus H. Motherfucking Christ. Fuck you, 2020. And RIP, Chadwick Boseman. He was just beginning. It was just beginning for him. This is all so goddamn wrong.

Killer Cuts might be corny and uncool, but it is wonderfully corny and uncool. I had a blast listening to this when it came out, and I still do. It’s 100% try-hard early ‘90s techno, but it fit perfectly with the aesthetic and feel of the game. No one else was listening to it other than you (mainly because you were a…
4-5 in Oda years probably means 8-10 in actual years. Which wouldn’t bother me any as I’m still enjoying the hell out of One Piece.
UO is still active and running? Goddamn. Is Everquest still going?
It looks better, I guess.
Definitely random, but it weirdly fits. The early days of the CD-Rom were like the early days of the internet: a time where you had this new-fangled piece of technology that did...something. And there was stuff for it that did neat things. But now that you have it, what the hell were you supposed to do with it? I…
The most curious of the early CD-Rom interactive experiences for me was Power Factory Featuring C+C Music Factory, a game where you basically get to ‘edit’ a few of the music videos of C+C Music Factory. Because that’s what you obviously want to do in a video game. Edit music videos.
The music in Wizards & Warriors is...fine. It’s got a very strong earworm quality, and not in a great way. Nothing against David Wise, who is a master, but the W&W music wouldn’t get out of my head and would sometimes give me a headache while I was sitting there trying to forget it. If we’re being honest, Wizards &…
