I kind of get what she means.
In this context, I believe she means "burdened."
Corbin sounds a little drunk.
...and how she can't get a date because all the man planets find her intimidating.
Marjorie says "St. John" like "Sinjun," doesn't she?
Yeah, but what about Uranus. Always acting like its shit don't stink.
That's exactly it. The money is secondary...it's the feeling of being used.
April Fools?
No, that never happened. I'm cool with stuff equaling out—and that's how I work with most of my friends now. I think it was just a matter of my letting people get away with shit in the past. I don't do it any longer, but it bothers me that I did in the past. It's not fair to anyone.
If she were heavily made up and wearing a padded bra, she would not look that different from many models. It's so bizarre that we accept it in one context and are horrified by it in another.
I never noticed before, but Judge Judy is kinda hot.
Be my guest—it's all yours.
The other thing is that I don't think most people want to smoke; it's just incredibly hard for them to quit. When I'm driving down the street on a miserable cold, rainy day, I see all the poor smokers huddled 30 feet from the entrances to their office buildings and think, "Thank god I don't smoke." I know what you mean: it's like they're thinking, "Oh, well. That would NEVER happen to me because I don't smoke, drink, eat too much..." Actually, perhaps we should answer the question of "Did he smoke?" or "Was she fat?" with "No, but he was smug, so you'd better watch out."
Oh, I know, but the implication when someone asks that question is that it's your own fault. My friend's father died of lung cancer, and she would lose her mind when people's first question was "Did he smoke?" I've never understood the purpose of that question.
I originally thought this one was a combined symbol of homosexuality (the rainbow) and a reference to a sexual orientation spectrum, but if that were the case, the other end of the rainbow should say "gay."
God I hate that shit. And it's epidemic ("Well what do you expect if you wear something like that?"). It's also evident in the way people blame victims of disease. What's the first thing people ask when someone is diagnosed lung cancer? ...liver cancer? ...diabetes?
"It's about permanence, not being able to hit delete," he explained. "You have to have some conviction in your thoughts. And that's my whole philosophy of typewriters."
