I once overheard a student telling another that I had a big ass.

After reading all the comments and noticing that most are not very sympathetic to Kristina Wong's situation, I believe the problem is that the story's climax is a bit of a letdown. Ms. Wong's build up was epic, and I, for one, was expecting an equally epic insult; however, while certainly hurtful, it wasn't epic. In…
Thanks....from the other responses, I gather my knee-jerk response to GS's desire to wear makeup for her husband was perceived as judgmental. And I agree: it was. I suppose my judgment of a younger woman who would wear makeup for a man is based on my own experience (form an earlier era) of being taught to wear makeup…
Mel looks like he belongs on "The Faces of Meth" project.
Hahahaha....and who doesn't hate those glances?
Yeah, I agree. Context is everything.
1) She said she wears it for Gavin. Come ON. That's not empowering...that's fucked up. How's that armour?
Or, like, the voice of obviousness.
How fucked up is what Gwen Stefani said? I'm in late middle age, and I'm ashamed a woman that much younger than I am would say something so stupid.
I want to go to there.
It's a terrible angle for anyone.
Okay, but I think with those four films, we've just about covered the non-embarrassments.
Yeah, I just call it "drunk online shopping." I'm delighted to find it's a disorder though. If it makes the next DSM revision, maybe I can get long-term disability (more time to drink and to shop!).
Um, I like Jamie Lee Curtis, but "an otherwise distinguished career"? Really? So which movie in her otherwise distinguished career is she embarrassed about? "Freaky Friday"? ...."Prom Night"? ...."Kristmas with the Kranks"? ...."Beverly Hills Chihuahua"?
@CaptainUnderpants-FighterOfApathy: Yes—he's making a leap that was not explicit in the book (which I also hated, but not as much as I hated the movie).
This piece is completely illogical because the writer is so selective in his list of men who have been "blackballed," and has completely ignored a much longer list of men who have emerged from very public affairs completely unscathed: Brad Pitt was the one who did the cheatin', yet Angelina is labeled the homewrecker.…
What complete bullshit. There are just fewer high-profile examples of women cheaters. Just look at the way Leanne Rimes and Angelina Jolie were regarded after their public affairs—it was much worse than the men to whom they were attached.
@MercurialGirl: Well, and then there's Baden-Powell's connection to fascism.
@day2night: I agree. She should complain to the store: no one should be bullied in this way.
I cannot believe what a bullying asshole that Boy Scout parent was. Even if the writer had no higher cause and didn't contribute because she just didn't feel like it, what right did he have to confront her? And on top of his confrontational manner, the fact that he wastes her time, but then storms off because he…
