1997 will always be the year of "Truly, Madly, Deeply." I was in middle school, that strange period where boys and girls become aware of each other as something other than "weird" and "gross." My school had a preposterous number of dances, like a tiny Greendale, and every single one of them ended with "Truly, Madly,

Well, sure, but this movie isn't called just Valerian. It's Valerian And… but the and bit has been specifically changed from the female lead's name. Omitting it in conversation for brevity is one thing (we generally just say Raiders of the Lost Ark, though Indiana Jones is part of the full title). Official removing

I think we all knew the sexual politics of this were going to be disappointing as soon as they removed the woman's name from the title (Valérian And Laureline) and replaced it with the overlong City Of A Thousand Planets mush. I mean, who would want to see a movie about a man *and* a woman, when we can just have a man

The Nardole/TARDIS disappearance really felt like Moffat's tinkering in an episode in service of the larger arc. NuWho's emphasis on having a season spanning arc has almost always been an anchor that drags other episodes down. We've seen the show rob the Doctor of the TARDIS (and/or sonic screwdriver) several times

Such a good song, and this was a cover by one of my favorite bands, Lovedrug. I'd heard that they were doing it and was surprised it wasn't more prominent in the ep.

But there's nothing more fun than beating an enemy until they drop their weapon, your weapon breaks, you pick up what they dropped and finish them off with it. That never stops being satisfying.

All of this!

The one the New York Times' released a full two weeks before the movie even hit theaters?

Is this the space where we complain about AVC's complete lack of editing?

I always thought the key to quality homemade chai was steeping twice. I boil water and add the spices, let it infuse for a few minutes. Then I add milk, reheat (not to a full boil) and then add the black tea. I feel like doing it all at once results in either not having the spices' flavor come out enough or "burning"

The question/concern I've long had any form of content protection is it will handle legacy material. What happens to mp3s created by ripping CDs (or records) I legally own? How do I prove to apple that I didn't obtain this music via torrent but by purchasing actual physical media (possibly before digital media was

Yea, Jay is correct: there are novels which tell original stories with the worlds/characters, but that crossover never happened. Though it would be amazing. If you can find them, the books are cheap, like $8 paperbacks.

I own every season on DVD and all the books. I wish there still books. With the tie-in novels from Monk and Eureka, it's a perfect trifecta of comedy television translated to the page. I always wanted to write a Psych novel, either called "Mind Your Ps and Qs" (they all have bad 'mind' puns for titles).

THIS.

Does anyone else remember Sleepwalkers? Naomi Watts went into people's dreams to solve crimes? I think it aired a whole two episodes. Let's see if Stitchers can top that.

How is Mos Eisley Cantina on the map? That's a place in a movie, not the title of a movie. A map of fictional movie place names would be extremely easy and uninteresting. The conceit of using only titles creates a potentially interesting challenge, but they can't even stick to that. What a waste.
