The boards aren't actually going "away" anywhere, they simply cease to exist.

I strongly disagree. I think it's symptomatic of US politics being hyper-polarized. Many people here literally cannot believe somebody being critical of something without being in the "opposite camp".
Tasteful - No. I would be happy if they don't go there.
I never assume that I know what sex anybody is unless I see their genitals.
I am not defending it as a "puzzle box", because I don't think of it as being a puzzle.
My point was that it's weird to not know that humans ARE animals. You talk about "treating like animals" without explaining that. And I never said that killing humans was just, that was your inference.
It's not at all clear what you are saying I have proven. Is that like saying: "People who think that 2+3=5 usually tend to think that 3+2=5 also"? Do you treat humans like plants?
Sure, but that doesn't make it meaningful. Which is why I remarked upon it.
I think it's funny that people here keep speaking of some scenes as being "reveals". Guess what - they are all reveals, every second of the show which was not on your blank screen before is revealing the story. Not only a few details which you arbitrarily decide are somehow more significant.
Oh, I remember you! You're that person who was complaining to somebody upthread about ad-hominems being a poor substitute for thoughtful critique.
What is your basis for assuming that it "thinks it's clever"?
You expecting mayhem in no way equivalent to the series promising it. That's what happens when people try anticipating a story in their imagination instead of interpreting the one which actually exists on their screens.
Why would we be rooting for anyone?
Many people in East Asian cultures enjoy the rules and protocol because they make life and society feel harmonious, that everybody is doing their part
I prefer it precisely because it is not "humanized" - there are already countless other series designed with and for human sensibilities.
What were you mystified about?
Maybe it's just a self-serving bias. Humans conduct genocide of other species on a massive scale - yet they seem collectively convinced they are the heroes of their own story.
Why should they? If I had a choice of keeping my job or helping a sentient robot, I wouldn't hesitate to do the latter - especially if it was more interesting than my job. There are some experiences money can't buy.
Wow, a quote of some boilerplate marketing hype which proves not anything at all. What producers typically do to get series off the ground is get it a budget and distribution.
Really? What are your questions?
