This is like me a few months ago when I realized MI:2 (which I love) ripped off the entire plot of Notorious!

This movie could’ve been good. Great even! I tried so hard to like this movie. But in the end: a piece of crap.
I’ve been completely unproductive all month, but hey, it’s Friday!
I still, to this day, do not understand the vocal fry thing. To me it is just “how a huge number of people talk.” Why are we isolating it, making it a “women suck at speaking” thing and talking about changing it? It’s here, it’s not going away, it’s just a form of speech...deal with it.
Do you remember Squeeze-its...but with JELLO? Plastic bottles of slurping, disgusting jello goo for you to suck up like some prehistoric bottom-feeder. Even as a kid I was like, “maybe we’ve gone too far.” Apparently the world agrees because I can’t find anything about them online.
Ugh, something I noticed with Tarzan is this media blitz that comes out about something dramatic happening while filming a sex scene. For Tarzan there was this whole blowup about Robbie slapping Skarsgard in the middle of filming. I remember when Halle Berry was in Die Another Day there was a similar story about…
Yeah can we maybe talk about how the first season sucked and was so incredibly boring I had to stop midway through. Also the writing devolved terribly and there was no focus and no real plot momentum that I could find. Io9, maybe just don’t repost somebody’s press release?
Can I get out of the greys please? I post here all the time!
Mike?
That kid definitely is immortal.
It’s Ivanka Trump. Hence her speech yesterday! I’m going with this.
Those sleeves. The hair. The shoes! This is the saddest outfit on the saddest model in the land.
I’m definitely seeing wrinkly, terrifying monster balls and dick with a phallic tail. Happy friday!
If you look into the Hockney-Falco thesis there are specific examples of strange optical irregularities in works where the artist actually moved the lenses and then tried to connect patterns or shapes in awkward ways. Falco measured and reproduced the changes exactly.
I started rewatching mid-Season 6 and it’s such a good idea! Everything is heavy with significance, even back in season 1. Also it makes more (heartbreaking) sense that Ned is trying to keep Daenerys from Robert’s wrath, because he’s raising a secret Targaryen himself and trying to keep the boy alive. So sad!
Not 100% sure but this is just for Thursday, when Friday evening and Saturdays are the real draw. Thursdays can be lime soft openings just to get the buzz going. They also make projections from things like the Fandango sales, competing films, views of the trailer online, etc.
Serious question: are we just 100% ignoring DVD and rental/streaming sales in film profitability? I know first weekend opening numbers are flashy and everything. And obviously a studio wants to make their money up front and then DVDs are icing on the cake. But from what I’ve read, almost half of a film’s profits in…
You’re making so much sense it’s hurting my head.
