Agreed, I'm sure the one I lived with is still running somewhere. For all its ice-creating, I still have fond memories of that thing. They really don't build things with the same level of durability anymore.

GENERAL MOTORS! My first apartment 6 years ago had one of those fridges! It was terrible! Though I guess it was typical for fridges in whatever time this thing was made, the freezer would just get smaller and smaller and smaller... Come to think of it, maybe that WAS an ice maker?

Red Mills makes a very tasty pizza dough!

NICE! As part one of the 1-in-300, what beer do you recommend? I only had to cut gluten out last summer after being sick for months... I miss delicious dark stouts.

Right? Why wouldn't you tie the cables UNDERNEATH the bed (each corner cable tying under its respective other corner, for example). It would hold it in place, take up less room, and avoid continuous tripping.

Oh the French-Canadian accent...

I have difficulty putting on weight as well! And there are very few resources out there to help. (No, eating junk is not a solution. Thin people can have clogged arteries just as easily).

You can INSTALL the latest version of iOS on a 3GS... Not sure those that have done so would agree that it runs.

I understand your point, but it seems that in this industry, the tip gets distributed not only to the delivery guy but to other employees at the restaurant. If you give cash, you risk cutting them out of a tip if the delivery guy just pockets it.

A month ago my laptop's video card died (computer booted up with the screen showing a beautiful, useless array of pixels). After giving it a day of rest to find it in the same state, I followed what seemed to be very optimistic suggestions and proceeded to remove the video card, bake it in the oven at 350F for 8

To be fair to the pool: half of it is under that concrete cantilevered section, so it's twice as wide as it appears in that picture. Also, a long narrow pool is exactly what you want if you plan to swim lengths as exercise.

I do this too. Chrome's ability to restore after a system restart or application close just makes it worst. On the plus side, there's something incredibly satisfying in closing 20 tabs to be left with a single one again when it's purging time.

Aren't Apple notorious for saying that they aren't doing something, then announcing that they are releasing a product that does just that a few months later?

In an aircraft, every extra kilogram counts. Furthermore, because aircraft typically operate at a fixed RPM, they are generally much more efficient than car engines.

I have an 8" Global Chef's knife. I'm an engineer, so I was attracted by the single piece (unibody?), all metal, this-will-last-forever design.

Thanks for the tip, did not realise that!

The ergonomics, weight distribution and edge holding ability of a knife can justify a higher price tag. Honestly, 350 isn't really that high. You can go much, much higher.

I love New Girl! It really grows on you...

The default music app and mail app are better designed than any of the competitors in my opinion... Honestly can't imagine how you have trouble finding your way.

"crème de la crème", literally, cream of the cream.
