I wonder how the relationship between the parents and the child will be when the child is old enough to understand what happened. It’s going to be gut-wrenching for the poor kid to face the reality of it, if he’s able to.

Should have gone with L7's shitlist.

I’ve seen a number of articles that claim it can be taught and cite a few studies. Some say that genetics has some play as well, so some people may be more pre-disposed.

Empathy?

I would love so much if we focused less on our looks/bodies and more on our actions and ideals. Let’s celebrate how beautiful empathy and kind actions are.

That is an optimistic take and I appreciate it.

She looks like someone who’d be interesting and fun to talk with. If I were at a party with everyone super fancy I’d want to hang out with her the most. Also, she’s gorgeous.

I really liked Jessica Jones at first, but it lost it’s appeal for me. It’s great to have a super strong female character, but she just ended up embodying the cool girl trope too much. She deals with her problems through violence, casual sex and alcoholism. She was the perfect fantasy of men who like to think of

Not unlike how an abusive partner/former partner/stalker can say things like “have a nice day” or “I sure hope nothing bad happens to you” and have it completely be a threat without it being legally considered uttering threats.

I was a pretty depressed and angsty youth which, combined with my face structure, means that I have none of the outer eye laugh lines which I think are gorgeous and all of the scowl lines which I think are not. So I tried botox recently for this and only this. I absolutely love it. Bonus is I don’t wake up with

This. Companies treat employees poorly then use these programs to make it appear that they care when really they’re just trying to gaslight you into feeling like you’re the problem so they can keep raking in the coin. I was in a department with a terrible manager. Each of us complained to HR about it, and we were

About once a week or so, my dog will spend the better part of a few hours gazing at me in admiration with a little smile on her face. It’s so f-ing cute.

That all makes sense to me. My first instinct would be to find the kid and make sure she’s safe, but I get how that could lead to conviction problems down the road, sad as that is.

Yep, which is why I said “hesitate to praise” and not “condemn”, and also said that I don’t understand how warrants work. Several helpful people have pointed out a few details regarding warrants and it all makes sense to me.

Makes sense, thanks for the reply!

I’m hesitant to praise the police considering they left the house and only found her on the second visit, but I don’t know how search warrants work. Could they not have searched the house the first time?

People absolutely can change their views, and in an ideal world would always be open to the idea of improvement and learning. Her response “I have no idea why I wrote that” does not indicate that she’s done any real growth though. I’d be more inclined to believe if she admitted her old beliefs and then explained how

There was a pretty big story in Canada about a year ago of a couple convicted in their child’s death from meningitis. Which they treated with things like smoothies with garlic and chili peppers. Maybe post some links to that story on the page? What’s especially awful is that this guy’s facebook is now all him doubling

That’s why I read comments here. There are way less of the gut-wrenching ones, way more of the ones that help me see that there are people out there who think critically and who work towards positive change. And at the least, it’s validating to know I’m not the only one.  Thanks for the comment! It helped bring me
