Exactly.
Exactly.
Oh yeah I am literally unable to use this site on my phone. It is literally, not figuratively, none functional.
It’s the worst on mobile. The absolute worst. Seriously considering deleting my bookmarks and going to the verge or engadget (also the content is more tech focused which is what this political blog used to be about 1.5 decades ago).
But how do you know we aren’t suffering in our own ways? How do you know we haven’t had to change our way either? This is something that always bugs me. I get your story and i feel sympathy for you, its a terrible thing to go through to have your own family condemn you for the sake of reputation. Fuck them, but not as…
Juneteenth represents freedom for a minority of countryman. July 4th represents freedom for everyone. There’s a significant difference in importance.
if it makes clowns like you mad, it must be pretty good. sorry there were too many gays for your pp to get hard
christ all the termites coming in here to whine about how the game refusing to give a happy or noble ending to its characters is some sort of objective betrayal of The Gamer’s Contract or some shit. watch a single movie that doesn’t have a merchandising tie-in, art doesn’t solely exist to give you everything you want…
Yeah, this is an important part of the national conversation. Really advancing the football with this one.
The basic idea here is that the show is about good people, and we want to see them do good things. I’d like to think that being a good person and an American cop aren’t mutually exclusive.
By that logic you should also say Fuck Juneteenth as it’s done nothing for systematic enslavement via jails, chain gangs, and racism as a whole.
I’m confused. Without that day of freedom then Juneteenth would mean nothing.
A lot of X-Media ignores or barely includes that core messaging. Not saying every X-Men story needs to focus on discrimination, but at this point I would say it’s been a central theme in less than half of all X-Men movies, for example.
Right? That is like saying you are a die hard Star Wars fan but forgot it was set in space.
You realize that X-Men was literally created as a pretty obvious metaphor for the civil rights movement, right?
The Avengers is pretty damn far down the list of things to blame for American foreign policy and the military industrial complex lol.
“Mutant Lives Matter” has been the premise of the X-Men for 45 years, bro.
Odds are pretty good that the ad was planned a while ago, especially since its using in-game footage. It’s just not the sort of thing that could spontaneously be thrown together.
It’s unfortunate timing, but this ad was probably planned months ago. It’s foolish that no-one thought to cancel it, but I doubt it was intended to “vaguely gesture in the direction of real-world issues.”
Terms can develop new meanings, lose old ones, or change in a million other ways. Just that fact that you have to inform people of the old meaning shows that the older meaning is no longer relevant to most people in day to day conversation. There was an older meaning (probably more than one), then your meaning, now…
