I’m so Old that I started out with hard contacts when I was 12 because soft contacts hadn’t been invented yet. Oh the middle school stories I could tell, about a lens popping out if you cut a side-eye too quickly, then sticking it in your mouth to moisten before popping it back in. Fun times!

Man, I’d do it too if I wasn’t such a chickenshit. I wear glasses daily and occasionally contacts (usually in the weekends or when I’m on the bike; I don’t like wearing glasses under the helmet.). For contacts I use the disposable type, the kind you wear for a day and then toss out. They’re good for what I use them…

My fun one is being so tired that I try to take out contacts that I’ve already removed. There have been several occasions where I’ve been pinching my cornea, think that it’s just a dry stubborn contact lens that’s stuck because I fell asleep with them in.

I can only wear hard lenses, and I have some pretty fucked up stories, but this...this is the stuff of nightmares. 

8 years ago I was applying to switch from my 2 year greencard to the 8 year card. I asked an immigration agent if he thought my application would be ok, his response to me was “You haven’t been arrested, or had a DUI have you?” So, this isn’t new. Sure. I’m arguing with the article, not trying to defend the policy. We do (on certain occasions) remove children from the parents of US citizens when they get DUIs. They are a sign of a serious lack of judgement and shouldn't be treated lightly

I love Latinos and hate Trump and support an open boarder, but if you think DUIs are no big deal then you obviously haven't had any friends killed by drunk drivers. Our neighbors to the north count them as felonies and we should to.

Just to clarity; a DUI is not a “minor crime”. Let’s not reframe that; considering what a battle it was/is to get drunk drivers off the road killing people. Misdemeanor or not, you’re kind of a dick if you’re driving around under the influence. Get a fucking Uber.
