I just read somewhere recently (here, maybe?) about how many civil rights activists & lawyers started out fighting for rape victims and thought it was a shame those stories haven’t been told. Glad to hear Recy’s story finally getting noticed.

Doesn’t hurt that most schools brainwash kids to be blindly patriotic. We said the pledge of allegiance AND sang the national anthem every morning from kindergarten through fifth grade. I read that the church had a mixed congregation. Not sure on the race of the victims though, or the motive.

Nothing hits me quite as hard as stories of kids putting themselves in danger to protect their little siblings. What a brave young man. What a terrible outcome.
