the entire fleet is a mess. The F-35B is actually, in my opinion, the saving grace of the whole thing, although, it is a chicken and the egg deal. I believe we don’t send F22s to this, or Russian flight intercepts, so that our frenemies can’t figure out the abilities and/or weaknesses. Imagine if in order to test your new radar systems you only had to fly towards Alaska and wait for an F22 to meet you - and then fine tune and try new systems to get the best…
I think E. European allies for sure, Poland, Romania, Hungary. Some would love to see them flying with a Ukrainian flag while others see this as only a form of escalation.
