I never understood why it took so long for Galaxy Quest to catch on. My sister, brother in law and I went to see it in the theater and we were laughing our asses off.

I think Fellowes is writing as if these people were upper class British instead of Americans. I notice Bertha & George speak more like Americans than Agnes & Ada.
