The only thing celebrities line up for, in my opinion, is a job that includes a lot of promotional work. I’ve seen lots of famous people but wouldn’t have dreamt of even asking for an autograph unless they were at an event where that was expected much less followed them to get their picture. This is not okay and I

Was going to say this too. One or two is fine but that whole section requires a click through. Very, very annoying.

As much as I love Jason Statham doing his Jason Statham thing, Spy tells us what he really ought to be doing with his time is parodying the Jason Statham thing.

Another creator who is definitely a good man is Mike Schur. I was just listening to him on the first episode of the Good Place podcast and he was clear that he *always* envisioned the cast as diverse one, and that is so much. And I can never forget Melissa Fumero’s story of being so simultaneously proud of Stephanie

A story worth hearing?

Yea, it’s not surprising to me that asshole men think the experiences of other asshole men are worth amplifying. This is why is it so critical to have representation from marginalized communities in these positions of influence.

Yeah, I’m a Canadian and followed it pretty closely. He was definitely known as an asshole prior to 2014. If you listen to stories from people around him he was a controlling piece of shit for a long, long time and was tolerated because CBC thought he was their “star.”

This editor was so fn dumb, he didn’t ask himself why a solely Canadian personality (in general) came to a NY publication to offer this story? Its because Canada hates this dude.

I read the article I am convinced Gomeshi is a sociopath. Seriously that guy isn’t normal. I followed his trial (I’m a Canadian from Toronto so it was kind of big news) and his legal team never once tried an “innocence” defense, it was totally a tear down of the accusers by his legal time. I mean normal people don’t

God, I LOVE a good fact-check. I refused to read the original essay, and gritted my teeth and bore through Buruma’s interview with Slate (bless Nicole Cliffe for her fury about this and nearly-concurrent return to Twitter).

“This seemed like a story that was worth hearing,”

Good.

Tremonti’s been in MUCH tougher situations. She reported from early-90s Yugoslavia/Croatia/Bosnia for CBC where she had to deal with world-class assholes and criminals. This white-privileged himpathetic apologist had no idea who he was dealing with.

A) Tremonti is a Canadian treasure and the only person worth listening to on CBC Radio anymore. She is intelligent, informed, pushes back and doesn’t allow any bullshitting.

She’s a brilliant woman AND a saint. I would have thrown something at him and stormed out.

Well clearly if a woman didn’t keep an eye on the statute of limitations for the possible charges for her harassment then it wasn’t that big of a deal and didn’t cause any harm.

And they aren’t bad unless they can be proven in a court of law to be illegal. Even if the bad thing happened so long ago that the statute of limitations will prevent it from ever being presented in a court of law. Still, innocent until “proven” guilty. Oh, and also for some reason the most rich and powerful men in

Oh, but didn’t you hear? It’s not sexual harassment, assault, or rape. It’s misguided romantic overtures.

Anna Maria Tremonti and Carol Off are both total badasses who have been subject to The. Worst. Behaviour from men in particular. They really deserve more credit.

Well duh, we all know that things aren’t bad unless they’re illegal! Women are required to silently tolerate harassment that stays just on this side of prosecutable behavior.
