Absolutely. I couldn’t get into 5 at all, but playing 6 with couch co-op was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done in a Resident Evil game.

Games are art, and the icon is one of the earliest pieces of the game’s art that potential customers experience. If I see a terrible icon in a digital storefront, I’m more inclined to believe that the rest of the game was handled with the same lack of care and polish, even if it’s only a subconscious feeling.

I paid almost twice as much for it a while back, and I don’t regret it. At this price, anyone on the fence should definitely pick up a copy.

They’re usually good for a single playthrough. If I like a game, and I like the characters, then it’s interesting to see how they interact with each other outside of combat. I’d never list a fighting game’s story as one of the greatest video game tales of all time, but they provide context, and I’d rather have more

I would have completely ignored this game if it weren’t for all the negative press, particularly here on Kotaku. Once I started looking into it, I liked what I saw, and I pre-ordered a copy to show my support for Vanillaware. Wound up platinuming the game, and making it my GOTY. If the PS4 has a cool limited edition,

You say the internet used to suck, but I find this stuff absolutely charming. It looks like an actual human being made these pages and had fun doing it, instead of using the same soulless template that everybody else uses. Honestly, nowadays, if a game even gets a website, it’s usually just an embedded youtube video

Seriously. I was dreaming up ideas like that when I first discovered Battle Royale over a decade ago. If I had the slightest bit of talent, I would have happily made that game myself. When indie games first became a thing, I thought for sure somebody would jump on the idea, but it took them quite a while.

Totally agreed. It feels like people want esports in the Olympics as a way to “legitimize” video games as a worthwhile pursuit, when that really isn’t necessary. It wasn’t very long ago that getting a Hollywood adaptation was considered the peak of legitimacy, and we all know how those usually turned out.

When I was a little kid, I bought a used copy of The New Challengers at EB Games or something. Took it home and found out it was a Japanese cartridge. It’s still one of the coolest things I have in my collection, though I’m sorely tempted to test my luck and see if I can get one of those glow-in-the-dark cases.

Let’s be honest here: they wanted people to relate to the character. Trump is in the White House and nazis march proudly in our streets, so I think it’s safe to say that roughly half of Americans think Asians are an alien species with incomprehensible thoughts and emotions.

Yeah, I’d love to see more developers explore the AO category, now that they don’t have to rely on brick-and-mortar stores to get their product out there. But I imagine Steam, PSN, etc. don’t want to get a reputation as a place to get porn games. Americans have a hard time with sex AND personal responsibility, and I’m

The ESRB ratings (and moreso, the content descriptors) are actually very useful tools for parents who want to keep tabs on what their children are playing. The problem is, many parents couldn’t give two shits.

It’s not like South Korea hasn’t overreacted once or twice before, concerning Japanese games.

Even if the joke was in very poor taste, it’s a flippant remark from a single actor. To ban the entire game over that would be an incredible overreaction.

Ignore the people who will inevitably try to make you feel bad for having a life outside of work. Your bosses, your co-workers, even random people on the internet will sing the praises of unpaid overtime and having a “go-getter” attitude. Life’s too short for that.

Parasite Eve is one of my all time favorites. Yes please.

I would love to see the option for adults-only servers. Not just in Overwatch, but every game. I don’t harass kids, but I’m really not interested in interacting with them either.

There’s no shortage of age-appropriate media out there for them. They gain absolutely nothing by skipping over everything else and jumping straight into Grand Theft Auto.

I might throw Lucio in there as well. Yeah, he’s suffered hardship and fights against the Vishkar Corporation, but it feels like it comes from a place of selflessness and bravery, and not a dark shadow lingering over his past.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t Junkrat and Roadhog’s home given over to the omnics, nuked and turned into a wasteland?
