Absolutely. The in-laws in Ask Polly’s column are just plain old violent sociopaths, who, if they’re not actually trying to murder her, are at the very least enjoying threatening her life.

FWIW, the Spanish version of the WBC’s statement uses the phrase “pronta resignación”, which google says is the right translation. Not sure which version was written first, of course, or whether “pronta resignacion” has a colloquial meaning in Spanish different from its direct translation.
