Dude, exactly.

Yep. It’s a person and abortion is murder unless you got raped, in which case it’s not a person.

Women who are ostensibly “pro-life” have abortions at the same rates as pro-choice women. And pretty much every doctor who performs abortions has multiple stories about patients who explain at length that abortion is wrong and evil and killing a baby, but it doesn’t count in their case — because, unlike every other

Fuck this woman and fuck my home state.

BUT! Your on your own for prenatal, labor and postnatal care and you better bootstrap the fuck up because we ain’t paying for your child once it’s out breathing air.

Came here to say just this. Anyone who claims they oppose abortion in general but think it’s okay in the case of rape or incest is making crystal clear that they do not believe fetuses are people and could not give less of a shit about them. They just want to punish women for having sex.

She probably is a hypocrite, but I just don’t understand how these people say they believe a fetus is a fully developed human, and then say there can be exceptions. I think it is just proof that they don’t actually believe what they are saying and they just want to control and punish women.

The thing is, these people are almost always for capital punishment and support wars, such as Bush’s war in Iraq. Its possible that this woman isn’t such a hypocrite, but far too many anti-abortion advocates are huge hypocrites when it comes to the “sanctity of life”.

“Oh, you got raped? Well ya should have kept your legs together you slutty slutty dummy! Serves you ri—

I’m kind of with you on this. For the true believers who see abortion as murder, there really is no middle ground.

This made me sob a bit because it is supposed to be a joke, but it’s not really a joke.

ok, so my understanding is, when woman gets pregnant from rape, that means God forgives her, right?

As disgusting as this is, I actually prefer this on a idealogical level compared to the politicians who think there should be exceptions. I think it is pretty hypocritical to allow it in some cases and not others because you either think that the fetus is a fully formed human being or you don’t. I don’t really see how

...which starts a cycle in which you develop a very unique, personal voice. One which doesn’t land you those deep profiles, or allow you to pitch an in-depth political or social essay, etc.

Later, in the staff meeting, Dan presents all his interesting and unexpected findings, without a hint of irony.

Hi Dan—

Absolutely. “Tell me about the time you had a harrowing experience and grew as a person” is waaaaay cheaper than “We’re embedding you with a celebrity for a week to write this deep profile about him/her”

Can we just talk about the Fibonacci numbers for a while?
