In Scotland, we often refer to soda as “juice” - or, if being specific, “fizzy juice”. This is different from fruit juice (such as fresh orange), diluting juice (pretty self-explanatory, but stuff like Ribena or Robinsons) and on occasion, “coo juice” (translation: cow juice = milk). The latter is usually in jest.

I haven’t seen the film, but based on the trailer, World War Z, much of which was filmed oin mynhome city of Glasgow. A large part was filmed in the main square in the city centre so it was a big attraction to a lot of folk. I work nearby so passed through all the fake street signssigns, shop fronts and traffic lights

I have a young niece, have been working in a Primary school classroom (ages 6/7) and am a Girlguiding Rainbows and Brownies leader (all girls aged 5-10). I cannot get away from that song. In fact the first few times I heard it was when my Rainbows kept “singing” it. I love all those wee girls but... Sigh.

Yeah it could be interesting if there is a subtle thread running through it about the difference in the portrayal of her in the media compared to that of her cousin.

That first half of the trailer was so different in tone from the rest - the dodgy, cheesy rom-com feel - that I wonder if they were attempting to skewer those types of films and that line of marketing but just totally missed the mark. I hope that’s what was happening and it’s not that the network felt they had to

I think Paddington did ok too... Apparently it was utterly charming (I haven’t seen it) and while I don’t think it was record-breaking, I believe it did pretty well at the box office.

Absolutely. My boyfriend and I have something of an ‘open door’ to our neighbour’s two kids too - they live across the hall and often come to hang out. As long as their parents know where they are, they’re made welcome and we just leave our door on the snib so they can come and go. We enjoy spoiling them and playing

My mum (and dad) were also great at providing a safe space for mine and my older sister’s friends. My sister’s in particular (they had greater need for it). I didn’t even fully realise that’s what they’d been doing until I was much older as they just quietly got on with it so I kinda took it for granted.

This is Barbarella. She's pretty awesome but she has never liked being picked up let alone flipped over. I once had a vet try to flip her despite my protestations. When she just struggled and kicked he seemed annoyed at both me and her and refused to clip her nails. Needless to say I no longer go there and the vet I

Ah this is an example of ours (we also often have the photos of diseased lungs and the like)

We have those warnings in the UK too. Are they different in the US?

My favourite film of all time! It's so amazing/terrible but it's totally my happy place film. It's comfort viewing for me.

My boyfriend is also allergic to wasps and consequently hates summer. It's a pretty miserable time for him to be outside.

Oh man I'd LOVE if a bat visited! I've seen them once or twice flying around my folks' garden (the live a bit deeper into the suburbs than I do) but never close up. I'm not sure Glasgow it known for its bats, mind...

I assume that's the thinking. The problem is if people just don't like musicals and then are tricked into seeing one, they're unlikely to enjoy the film anyway. They'll probably enjoy it less because it was mis-sold to them and then will tell others it's terrible.

Wasn't the marketing for Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd similar? I seem to recall seeing the trailers and wondering if they'd decided not to make it a musical.

I think he means it would make a quick buck if opened on Halloween, rather than the week after. So he does mean fired.

I agree with the general criticism I've seen that the villains aren't particularly well fleshed out (so far) but I think we also have to bear in mind that the film is about the Guardians and in my opinion the focus should be on them. I think it's much more important to ensure those characters work really well. It

Oh thank you for this. Really.
