This was going to be my suggestion but

I obviously knew bleaching was damaging my hair severely but it's interesting to see exactly how! I used to have two 'Rogue-esque' blonde flashes which took a lot of bleaching as my natural hair colour is really dark - especially as I wanted them as white as possible, not too golden. After a year of monthly bleaching,

The daddy issues and the fact Depp played Wonka as the wrong kind of creepy! I thought it was utterly charmless, myself. I have a lot of love for the book and that's why I always disliked the original film (I always forget it's a musical too, it's weird!). But for me Burton did no better. Gah, I'm just too hard to

It's interesting, I found Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and (particularly) Dark Shadows near-unwatchable. I so wanted his version of the Charlie... to be amazing and when I first heard he was doing it and Depp was starring I thought it was a great idea. And then I saw it... I really, really hated it. And I don't

Yeah that's pretty much how I pictured her... and I do really like Scarlett Johanssen so I won't make the joke!

Ha! That is pretty cool. I only remember bits and pieces about the book to be honest, but the bits and pieces that stay with me are the most messed up bits, like when you finally get a description of exactly what has happened to the men she's captured!

If I recall correctly (it's been a while since I read it) that's exactly what it is; rich aliens looking for exotic meat as opposed to "normal" aliens, feeding the masses. It's all a bit fuzzy now to be honest but I'm sure it's something along those lines.

I completely agree with you on (early) Tim Burton. I've pretty much hated everything he's done since Planet of the Apes though (which I won't watch due to my irrational fear of Planet of the Apes films!!) . I quite liked Sweeney Todd and sort of didn't mind Big Fish - but very little of it really stayed with me.

I'm curious about this as I've read the book and a colleague of mine worked on it. I quite liked the book but I didn't love it so I won't mind too much if the film's not particularly loyal to it... which might be the case judging by that teaser. I didn't recognise much of that from the book (although perhaps I just

Haha! Harsh... but fair. Also while we're at it, I don't think Take That ever really used an exclamation mark.

I saw it at the cinema with one of my best friends - my idea, she'd never heard of it - and as as the credits rolled she turned to me and just said, "Carrie, I feel violated..." I understood what she meant, I don't think I could quite say I enjoyed that film. 'Appreciated' might be a better choice of word I suppose.

I have never seen that advert (presumably we didn't get it in the UK) but looking at that photo I can understand why that would terrify you. Pretty creepy...

I know it's a fairly loose basis, but going by Maybe The Moon, I'm not surprised to see you say she was very outgoing and upfront. That sounds very similar to the character of Cadence Roth from what I remember.

I was going to suggest Tamara de Treaux, an inspiration for Armistead Maupin's book Maybe The Moon. She was inside the E.T. costume but as I found out when searching Google for a photo of her and the costume, she wasn't the only actor who was E.T.

It really made me chuckle too, for some reason!

Its website describes it as a strip club though. I mean I'm using Google translate but I can't see "striptease" being mis-interpreted! Also it's called "Nympas Show Bar" (with a logo of a girl pole dancing) which pretty much suggests it's not just a night club... Perhaps it eventually because a strip club but didn't

My best mate is a massive Star Trek fan and went to see STID 5 times I believe. The first time was with me and he got really emotional by the end of it! He'd been waiting a long time for it so he was preeetty excited!

By the end of the episode about her death I realised pretty much that she wasn't coming back - and by the end of the season I was certain - but my point was at first I absolutely didn't think she was really gone forever, hence me posting it in relation to this article. As I said, I just didn't expect her to be killed

Yeah I felt both of them deserved better endings. Prim shouldn't have died at all, it was completely unnecessary and the fact that it may-or-may-not have indirectly been at the hands of Gale grated with me even more. It wasn't even a death that had much of an impact - it just kinda happened quickly and... distantly,

It was the sneaky move of putting her in the opening titles for the first and last time that episode that really got me!
