Is it really that big of a deal with a normal stem? Especially with wheel openings that large.

Sure 100++ octane racing fuels can do it too, to some extent. But most of the really high octane ones are leaded, which beyond killing brain cells also kills catalytic converters and o2 sensors.
Not saying it isn’t an interesting choice, but to be fair they are rated at load for a constant 75mph. It seems that they are shaved in this example, which would reduce the tendency for the tread to come flying off and reduce the load on the casing.
They look shaved, which makes sense. Still a somewhat interesting choice for 300+ mph.
The chute did seem to fully deploy, then collapse immediately after that, which is when the spin really began.
I’m curious why the chute collapsed. It would have probably saved him from a spin. It perhaps didn’t fully deploy or maybe the fire got it. It most likely would have prevented the spin if it was fully deployed.
Pretty sure he pulled the chutes in an attempt to save it, but it still spun shortly after they were deployed. Generally speaking parachutes save your ass if you pull them early enough, as they pull hard at the rear and help prevent spins.
I’d argue that the 850 and v70 wagons were top notch and hold up pretty well today. So simple, yet so distinctive - especially the rear.
Rolls-Royce: “Our new wheels are the ultimate luxury for the discriminating uber high class car buyer!”
Shuttling back and forth from Lake Tahoe is probably a contributor. Not all of California is sunny and snow free and Tahoe is pretty damn far in the other direction.
I have small kids. Not in every example, but if given these two, I’m pretty sure I would take the car.
While I won’t argue that it isn’t fundamentally a profit issue and I certainly won’t argue the tax points, it’s certainly not as simple as having oil companies just stop gouging. There is a serious refining capacity shortage which will take a long time to resolve and it’s a not just the USA.
Maybe - but I would put money on these morons being well educated.
Source? Seems like spin or at least ignores a lot of factors.
I guess that could be true.
Same here, although apparently it didn’t come off that way?
I don’t know if that should be a concern for the following reasons:
You thought long and hard and since they can’t fit your *theoretical* *fantasy* use case, they are completely worthless.
Europe has a lot of gas guzzling premium stuff - and they sure are reliant on some really shitty places to get their gasoline.
Lead times are a poor example right now. There are lots of cars with crap lead times or just flat out unavailable.
