This is EXACTLY right.

It’s pretty safe to assume that Kristen doesn’t have kids by reading this. But I feel it should be mentioned, as someone who had kids fairly recently and fairly late in life that it seems to me only someone without kids could feel this way. And maybe some self centered pricks with kids. But lets hope those are deep

Interestingly, I have a friend who is basically a one car person. His family has a Highlander because - according to them - it’s so much cooler than having a minivan. They bring this up often - talk down on the neighbors with the minivan, etc.

And yet, it still looks so much more agreeable.  Booring as fuck, sure, but not too offensive.

Roof box goes a long way for keeping the fun car practical and useful for a wide range of trips.

Ok, so you are doing some type of fuel cost estimate comparing it to a vehicle with drastically less MPG? That is fucking retarded, here’s why -

Obviously math is not a strong point with you, eh?

A RAV is terrible in dirt. From my experience with the 4th gen, it bottoms out over rough roads, let alone off road. That is one of the first things I noticed about it, bigger tires or not - it’s harsh and cant handle medium hits, let alone larger ones. It is not something to consider when you are going offroad. Last

Not smaller. The same. In fact, going back to the Corolla sample, I think the wagon is slightly longer inside. So space is not a factor. RAV4 is more like a wagon, compare it to such. The sedan and hatch are shorter cars, this is obvious if you really want to look at the numbers.

Did you read my post? I have’t owned a sedan in 20 years. Hatches rule, but there are PLENTY of car based hatches that will kick the ass of their CUV siblings. Sadly many of them aren’t available in the US because of the stupid CUV trends.

Mazda 5 is big enough for pretty much anyone and their big kids. That car alone makes the “I don’t fit” excuse bullshit.

Can we get over the whole “I am slightly tall so need the biggest car made” excuse?

Best CV axles award.

Been there.  Even worse.

You absolutely right - in theory.

Case IH will murder your cute but angry Kubota:

I am in a somewhat similar situation. I drive in all directions for work, often rural and 200+ miles each way. I also have a history of iron ass road trips.

Ah, refuel in my garage and no gaddamn gas stations full of morons jockeying to steal the first open pump in the freezing cold?

Car and Driver doesn’t seem to be running the performance model and it shows. Top Gear has a long history of shitting on Tesla, so they don’t get much credit from me for being accurate. What I am talking about is the latest cars run heads up with no bias.

Run them heads up but not on a drag strip? Maybe. However, it seems the Tesla is pretty good at street too.
