"something actual flesh-and-blood teenage girls could probably use as well."
Ahh, internalized misogyny. What a time to be alive. It's not like teenage girls aren't severely judged enough, let's add more.

Good job, AV Club. Yeah, a movie that celebrated female empowerment could've been better with an abusive misogynist as the star.

"Everyone except the most frustrating contrarians know that Rory is supposed to be with Jess"

"But that’s the pattern of The Shannara Chronicles in its repetitive first season: get an interesting storyline started, give it a false resolution, interrupt it with several far less interesting storylines, then bring it back when the audience most expects it."

"Teen Wolf has characters named “Hayden” and “Braeden.” There’s a “Jaden” on the horizon isn’t there"

Excellent review. I totally agree with everything about Malia. Her character had the potential to have a really interesting arc, but the writers seemed to get tired of the entire premise of her character early on and glossed over it, then shoved her aside. It's frustrating.

Yeah, why is it so difficult to tell all the guys apart in the show? Is there now just casting calls for mannequins with slight facial expressions? Obviously whoever did the original casting for the show is no longer working on it.
And no, nothing will make sense by the end of the season. In fact, most of the scenes

Is it a mystery what the Emperor wants Lothal for? I thought it was established the Lothal has heaps of rare minerals/metals, and that these are the things that are being mined to build the death star. The crew already blew up a huge crystal last season that the empire wanted. It wasn't said explicitly, but it's

Can Oliver disappear wherever Roy went, and then Laurel, Nyssa and Felicity can form Birds of Prey and actually be competent? Things happen to Oliver and then he's frowny faced for 40 minutes. I honestly don't understand why anybody wants to be around him.

I'm not surprised. Shonda shows are full of cheap stunts, plot that makes no sense once you find out what's been going on, and full of smart, competent characters that act like tweens in their personal lives (How To Get Away with Murder, Scandal and Grey's Anatomy are full of it). I'd be more shocked if Derek's exit

Are we just ignoring the years of angels and gods that the CW has had with Supernatural? This article is strange to say it's new ground for the CW and then talk about Supernatural a few paragraphs down. The level of apathy that went into writing this tells me I probably shouldn't bother watching the show.

MTV exercising it's usual cognitive dissonance where it pretends to care about race while none of it's original scripted programming contain black main/leading characters and if they are there they are minimally used side characters. Good job, MTV.

Exactly. Why should we even care about any character if their deaths don't even matter? Why should we care if they're trying to save people? The show has shown us it doesn't matter if characters die.

Kira grew a tail. Yeah, that's about it. Does this mean she'll actually use her powers next season? And also she should not age now since her mother is 100s of years old and slowed her aging once she got her tail. I wish they'd explore how Kira is going to deal with the realization she's probably going to outlive

I hope so. But after that finale, I'm not holding out any hope. It looks like the show is just starting from an almost clean slate.

"What's the point of rooting for someone if you know they're always going to win without any consequences?"

"How have any of the events of this season truly affected the protagonists of Teen Wolf?…even the better episodes of the season leave a bitter taste, because they were all for nothing."

I think my problem with that way of story telling is that writers are making the characters do things, not because it's what's right for the characterisation, but what will setup the flashy plotpoint they want to write in the future. Sure, writers have to be trying to build a storyline, but having the characters do

Same. I'm not liking Stiles as much this season because of the way he seems to be shaping her into the image of what he thinks a girl should be. I love that she has her own opinions about what she likes and thinks, but Stiles is always there correcting her. I know it's supposed to be humorous, but Malia's my

3B did build a lot better. But the moments in the nogitsune storyline built at a weird, illogical pace.
