Even as a kid playing Red/Blue I kept imagining Pokemon as a BotW type open world game, I guess it’s due to watching the TV Show where Ash’s stupid choices where important and they kept finding unexpected adventures in the wild and also seeing his pokémons sometimes making their own choices in battle made me wish for

Pokémons in the overworld, Following Mons, Raids, Bigger Open World? All I need now is an ARPG element whenever I throw a pokeball and I’m never leaving my switch at home. That would make it feel less like I’m promoting cruel dog fights and more like it’s me doing all the fighting. Think Kingdom Hearts with 807

It’s not really a game experience based around that, though. So you’re cutting part of the experience without replacing it with other substantial gameplay.
