I feel really, really bad for you.
I sincerely doubt that you have friends.
From one cranky fan to another, I think what you’re describing is mostly consistent with comic book crossovers. Blatant sell out, fan service (for Marvel, this always involved Wolverine having an outsized role), overly serious, with a plot driven by external factors such as new characters, new comics, revamping old…
I love the idea of someone “smugly” trying to buy tickets to something. Nice try, guy.
Surely anyone wasting out precious time sitting on the bleacher during any MLB games, or camping out for days before Superbowl also needs to be reminded of their little sports entertainments are also a sham.
This is the correct take.
This is so great, you think you have friends. :)
If you find someone buying tickets for a movie annoying and smug, that sounds like a you problem.
That’s like saying all of Picasso’s work “are the same”.
Dude named Digibro said it best but I’ll paraphrase:
I would argue that aesthetic is half of his story telling. He always tells love stories, in one form or another (often times tragic, unrequited love). In broad strokes they do feel the same. And he does some of them with sci-fi and/or fantasy elements.
Best get used to it. FF13 was the same way. Square is not going to devote years of work and millions of dollars in creating these expansive FF universes only to drop them like a sack of potatoes once the game is released.
Why on earth are you so mad? They threw FF characters into a fighting game before, just like you said, so what makes VII’s characters so different that putting them into Ehrgeiz and Itadaki Street is fine, but putting Noctis into Tekken is terrible? Hell, VII had its own franchise, and IV and X both had sequels (and…
Square’s decision to essentially pimp the thing and turn it into a whole franchise as opposed to just, you know, making another fucking Final Fantasy like they used to is one of those cases where greed has clearly won out over quality.
So your comparing it to 7. Cloud has been pimped into 2 off brand fighting games(almost soul caliber also), 3 spin off games, and a movie. Putting noctis in one fighting game is unacceptable?
What exactly is weird about Ninja Turtles in a game with a super smart, talking, psychic gorilla and a cheetah woman?
If you read the full post that we link to, he actually talks about all of these things quite a bit.
Table salt in the United States contains added potassium iodate, potassium iodide, sodium iodate, or sodium iodide — the more stable salts of elemental iodine. It is added to prevent iodine deficiency — an endemic (location-specific) problem in most regions of the United States.
